Tested the trial version that i've found very impressive...so i bought it...and from what i can hear now it looks like the official retail version sounds a bit better...like transients are more in phase or something. It sound clearer to my ears, very neat.

BUT SERIOUSLY DIAMOND COLOR EQ IS A MUST HAVE MASTERING TOOL !!!

I love this EQ.

I authorized it online, the usual way. The original way of authorizing was fine and there's really no need for an application.

I agree, however I am among those who would love to have a way to transfer my licenses around as I do with my iLok, so there needs to be something at least to that end. A straightforward way to de-authorize one machine and re-authorize another is really all I need. I'm not going to bother much with Aquarius until that functionality gets implemented.

So I did test Diamond all afternoon yesterday. Very nice EQ and the preamp also adds a very nice color but I will pass this time. I got similar results with pEArL 2. Of course it is not exactly the same especially in the heights but for me it's not worth spending the extra money even with 18% loyal discount.

I purchased Diamond with my 18% loyalty discount.

Put simply: I think it is the best Aqua EQ, so far.

I don't have that many Aqua EQs (pEArL2, Amber, Lime, Sand and Coral).
To be honest, out of the ones I already had pEArL2 (I had pEArL 1 too) is pretty much the only one I used after the honey moon periods ended.

I'm talking about broad shaping, vibe and not doing too much damage to transients. Diamond does these things very well for me. I like the preamp too (subject to what is going on with the material I'm feeding into Diamond) and the low cut is nice.

Obviously it is not something for surgical work but, for what it does, I think it is very good. It is very smooth when boosting or cutting gain and it seamlessly sweeps through frequencies on each band.

Hopefully I will get a lot of use out of Diamond.

It's true - this one feels special, and hints at a bright future for the Acqua line.

The combination of lighter footprint, quick and direct workflow, and enhanced preamp/filter interaction make it a solid workhorse.

Then of course, there's a great manual (which is expected by now) and the most high-profile promo and artist endorsement yet...

The high mid boost is a pretty unique filter combination as well. Works well for bringing up a lot of raw material that can be sculpted later with some cuts when required, as pointed out in the video.

i think Diamond is very special
but i still feel that with Pearl too

it really feels like hawing two different expensive HW high end eq`s ITB

its two different tools that each have they're strengths
Diamond is not a tool that replace Pearl
as each are doing things differently
the musicality in these two eq`s is very very strong IMHO

Diamond is its own tool
and its so easy and fast to work with it feels like cheating haha

i cant say its a must buy for all even im very very tempted so say so

but its definitively a must try to see if it fit youre music and taste
i doubt anyone would not like Diamond if someone are looking for a smooth, musical, fast workflow, light CPU Acqua


i really love these two broad stroke tools
Pearl and Diamond
whats best is always a taste thing
as there is no best eq for everything

Acustica are now hitting a level of quality
that you cant just say this is much better than the other anymore IMHO


it totally depends on what the the source need


for me Diamond is filling a gap i didn't have
that is why it is a must buy for me
for me Pearl and Diamond compliment each other extremely well
this was what i expected after i saw the Luca video
and im very very happy i was totally right

im very happy to have two Aqcua eq`s now
that feels totally on nebula level
but at the same time is very unique in ways that you cant find in nebula sound vice

Pearl eq have always been my benchmark for top end Acqua since i bought it
now i have two

I tried the trail today on a bigband (free stems) mix, very nice really impressed by the LF and also the low cpu usage. its like, in the studio/ out the studio on bypass

still deciding but really awesome plugin

Demoing it today and I'm very impressed - I don't do any mastering so I don't know if I will purchase. But I love the simpleness of the layout and graphics, how easy it is to create a beautiful sound. I have a folk mix with a banjo, doesn't sound a job for Diamond but actually it opened the banjo top right up and the preamp made it sheen. It really took that track to another level. Impressed! I would love to see some similar tools focused on mixing - pipe dream would be a similar simple EQ based around a H*lios
