Coral - mastering channel strip
Coral - mastering channel strip
This awesome product will be released today.
We are going to release windows version AND mac osx, all frequency rates (44, 48, 96, 88)
As first step we'll release ONLY "Coral Reef": they are the 4 standalone products derived by the main plug-in: an equalizer-filter, a compressor, an elliptical filter and a preamp
The main plug-in will be released around the middle of november.
CPU load should be comparable with TWO instances of sand plug-in. As soon as possible (maybe today) we'll provide benchmarks also for it.
While you are waiting, here links to the BEAUTIFUL and very complete user's manual.

Low resolution pdf (light version of user's manual):
https://app.box.com/shared/static/bul09 ... n4u3jd.pdf
PRICES:
we'll sell ONLY the whole bundle: main plugin + coral reef (5 plug-ins).
Full price will be 199 eur
FIVE PRODUCTS
BUT
We are going to do a big presale discount, 25% so 149 eur
Beware, this will be our BEST price, Black Friday or Christmas will not bring to you better deals
I think many of you have at least a discount ranging from 10%, several ones till 30%, which means you grab those beautiful plug-ins at 100 eur or just a little more.
Just a note: we have spent countless hours doing it.
I think it is awesome, considering it is a mastering suite with revolutionary features:
- an elliptical filter (really really few ones in the digital domain modeled after analog ones, and with these audio performances). I remember its main characteristic: ZERO ALIASING.
- a baxandall-style equalizer (really really few ones in the digital domain modeled after analog ones, and with a very limited amount of frequencies. I remember its main characteristics: CORRECT PHASE and ZERO ALIASING.
- a dream chimera-mastering compressor. A novel concept, derived from soft saturators and with variable detector chain. I cannot say aliasing is zero in this case, but performances are really very good. I guess it will be your preferred bus compressor
- an userful preamp plug-in, featuring stereo channels, and a VERY GOOD ALIASING. Curves are a bit strong for a subtle mastering session, but it is an awesome tool for mixing.
- routing, m/s, our first processor featuring stereo link
- our first engine implementing realtime variable rate conversion (it means you change rate in your sequencer and the plug-in follows it instantly), our new ultrasynch tech (very good representation of filters at different sample rates, minimization of interpolation errors), our variable-refresh-rate tech on vectors (abused on the compressor) and finally filter knobs are accessible from controllers even if they are implementing core8/9 optimizations
Food for your minds. Happy mixing.

Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
I just tried this beast, and a b a master with a lot of different (many aqua) plugins and this is something else.
Amazing work again guys, its a no brainer for me, especially the pre, filter and the comp.
PS: when will the pre-sale end?
Thanks

Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
yous this is the point: coral is "something" else. This is the reason for the advertisement "the outside world.... and us". Coral is the first product which is aimed to solve common problems from an unique perspective.weststudio wrote:I just tried this beast, and a b a master with a lot of different (many aqua) plugins and this is something else.

Presale should last at least 1 month, starting from now
In this case we don't have competitors, both hardware or software.
This is also the reason for the name. Coral is something alive, but still "unique" in its beauty. You can compare with other gems, but it is something which stands by its own.
Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
we encourage to read the user manual.
This product is revolutionary on many aspects!

Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
Congrats on the release, looking forward to testing.
Will the final version be backward compatible with this first release?
If not please try to do so in the future.

Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
not this product BUT we'll be forced to do it cause an other thing we are creating these days, so we'll be forced to do it.
Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
LOVLEY.............
edit ----
filter module is working, it turns out its a Monomaker filter rather than tradition hp/lp filter, im just jumping in with out the manual
filter section in EQ is subtle missed it first time around, what are they G 0.2db an Octave
Hp really takes away the busyness of the high end and gives a feeling of warmth
edit ---
Preamp, this has to be the most blatant preamp yet by acustica
Air mode: very airy, vocals just pop out
Tape Mode: may be a bit too blatant could do with a mix knob I think
Coral Mode: The non noticable one but gives depth and thickness
switching between the 3 modes is very fast
EQ
It might be the track I was playing with but it first came across as being harsh, the gains on this is massive so you have to go gentle to master or hard to destroy.
Bass on this thing is awesome kick drums and sub basses just jump out Yes!!!!
Compressor
i'm slightly confused by the lack of ratio and the various detector settings, I set the detector to sand hoping it would have the glue type nature of sand and I think thats what I acheived, usually to get a track to glue I overdo the ratio and threshold and tune the attack/Release until its sounds good then back off.
The Shmod on this bought out a very emphasised attack on the transients
Whole package feels smooth and the Red colour will be the only one for me

Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
on the master: Eq is really good, Coral preamp is nice. Not sure about compressor, compared it to Ultramarine3, which gives me a more open and warm sound. Elliptic filter is fine I guess. I was using DMG Dualism for mono-making the bass before. Coral is maybe more natural.
Will definitely buy it only because of EQ.
Big Ups!

Re: Coral - mastering channel strip
ok, just a note because also betatesters were confused at the beginning.
elliptical filter: it doesn't "filter", but it changes the stereo field below a frequency
about the filter in the eq module: betatesters told me it was not working, but it was working really. The filter is for mastering, very subtle. Please refer to the user manual. It is almost invisible. It is the kind of pro filter you would use on a whole master.
compressor: it is really different from all common compressors, because the lacking of ratio. It is glueing but it is not as much obvious as sand, because the static compressor curve.
