VERY IMPORTANT

Since it was requested and someone said the plug-in is cpu hungry (ok the mixrate will solve a lot of things), we decided to release ALSO the bus compressor as STANDALONE virtual rack plugin FOR FREE TO SAND CUSTOMERS.

The plugin will be as much hungry as tan more or less (due to limited routing)
Tomorrow will post pictures

I'll try these settings asap and keep you informed ... ;)

- I didn't try ZL versions much for i thought these were more CPU hungry ! But i use 1024 usually for mixing with Neb and Acquas on my MOTU firewire ultralite Mk3.

;)
i was desperate to find out what was causing the dropouts so i tried everything i could think of

first strange solution but not a preferred one was to turn down the Audio Card latency,
it actually worked but its not very ideal when you want to take full advantage of the CPU LOL
very strange turning down latency actually would work better than turning it up, it doesn't make sense to me

i have to create a thread in Reaper forum about this so i can fully understand why this is happening

it was very frustrating watching my CPU hit only 30% and having serious audio dropouts

so i goggled a little and the advice i found was turning off anticipated effects
Well that was a complete disaster and the worst dropouts i have ever heard , dropouts in slow motion beyond belief

but this proved it had something to do with the anticipated effects so i turned it on again and turned up the settings,
and surprise the Surge and White2 regular version now worked

so try a little of both and find out whats the best blend for you, it would be very strange if this works only for me, its very unlikely

i couldn't use surge on master before i turned up anticipated effects(after adding big group buses)
same thing happened with white2(before turning up anticipated effects), so then i tried ZL version of white2 and boom problem solved

even ZL eats a little more CPU it will finally give me the full CPU available , and allow me lots of more instances for the tracks and even more processing on the buses if needed :)

i really hope this will work for you too Thierr7
and other people in the same situation using Reaper
this could work on Reaper Mac version too

Sorry for being off topic good folks, but this could solve Sand issues and other Acqua issues for Reaper on buses and master
where Reaper is actually the issue and not the Acqua

so this is not completely out of line i hope

next post is gonna be strictly about Sand, i promise :)

Cheers :)

great idea, the standalone bus comp!! 8-)
system 1: windows 8 32 bit - samplitude pro x3, waveform 9 (tracktion), reaper
system 2: mac osx el capitan - reaper(64bit), waveform 9 (64bit), mixbus 6

both systems on: macbook pro (late 2009), core 2 duo 3,06 ghz, 4 gb ram, graphic: nvidia geforce 9600M GT 512 MB

One more question regarding CPU consumption.
Why SAND(and other Core 8 and 9 plugs) eats 10-15% CPU without any EQ,Compressor or Preamp engaged?

basically it is a consequence routing and mix rate. Anyway we'll make it more cpu friendly. I'm not promising a % value, but we'll do it.

fantastic!

i really wanted to have only the compressor in the beginning but after playing with sand i really like the routing concept so i'm glad i bought it. of course i'm also glad to get the compressors only as an extra on top. 8-)

Without SC filter it will eat LF and does not compete with other compressors
Please add simple 12db SC filter.
