June 2016, PINK 7236
Re: June 2016, PINK 7236
Strange behavior in 7236.
Send 1 kHz stable signal and look at IN meter.
Why it is jumping like crazy without any gain reduction?

Pink > Amethyst 2. Just sayin'giancarlo wrote:For example we upgraded scarlet. It doesn't mean scarlet was not usable before. Amethyst was considered globally ok before pink. Pink was considered good till amethyst 2. Amethyst 2 was considered very good before this pink 2412. Which I consider awesome, and close friends too.
Try it accurately, and I'm sure many of you will agree with me.

The in meter in both plugins was reported today also from an other user and a friend. We'll check it
Apart it are other things good?

I asked also to beta.. Maybe it is an issue specific for the trial. It will be the first thing I'll check tomorrow in the morning
The other issue (inverted gain) was solved (not yet in beta, but it was a fix which doesn't require much betatesting)
We don't have other reports till now

Re: June 2016, PINK 7236
2412 eats 20-25 % CPU when SC is enabled
I think its too much for single band compressor
Pink channel for example 7-10% in Insane and pink mode
96 khz 1024 buffer
Pro Tools 12.5
Mac 10.11.5

Ok report it. By the way, which is the cpu load without sc?
In pink strip sidechain is executed with iir techniques, while in this case using a proper fir filter, with proper phase ( it means a lot on compression)
Other thing, the compressor is program dependant and it features 4 times more segments
Good news, we are working exactly on optimization

They sound FANTASTIC! AMAZING dynamics also. Shmod and NYC are really very nice for the music i make. I will buy this 2 tools for sure 100%.
Its a shame that Pink and Titanium users like me can't buy this tool applying both coupons of 10% and 15% because it would be an incredible ship
Cheers AA Team!! Thank you for this one, i can't imagine updates of Murano and Titanium

Without SC and Pre CPU 10-15%
Its also too much for goto compessor on many tracks

Ok in your system is too much
We'll tell you this week how much we could optimize
There is a margin, but I don't know the amount

I want to add
All my Core 8 plugs(Pink,Amethyst) eat 5-8% CPU without any EQ,Pre and Comp engaged.Navy for example 2-3%

I agree. I said the same thing in the other thread. Even without SC enabled it is way more cpu intensive than pink...they are not even close.Andrums wrote:2412 eats 20-25 % CPU when SC is enabled

I confirm, there is a wrong input meter setting on both compressors. We'll release a fix maybe todayAndrums wrote:Strange behavior in 7236.

we are using way more interpolation points. Anyway I'm checking this matter and possible optimizations right nowAndrums wrote:Without SC and Pre CPU 10-15%

For sure we'll optimize raw funs. But it's possible we can optimize also raw vectors, so even if we have a lot of more samples we can get a similar cpu load

Just my two cents, but in all my testing, Pro Tools 12 is way more efficient and stable with hyperthreading off. I run my dual 6-core Xeon with HT off religiously.
