drums and such ... I usually aim at -6dB fs PEAK.

As mentioned, the HORNET is a very handy [affordable] utility. I sometimes use it when starting up a mastering session.

Main meter is KLANGHELM VU analogue style meter. It has built-in TRIM control that I bookend about each NEBULA/ACQUA. Later in the session, after settings have solidified, I'll re-balance outputs of each NEB/ACQUA [time allowing].

Hi Guys,

Agree with everything you all said above.
The Hornet VU Meter might not have the best ballistics (like Waves Dorrough for example) but the Auto Gain feature is super cool.

I always insert it on the tracks i need to gain stage and then let the song run through one time from start to finish and all my levels are set perfectly for Nebula/Acqua.

Can´t recommend it enough.

@Giancarlo: If Acustica ever intends to write a manual on how to hit the sweet spot for your plugins I´m sure you could use a lot of phrases 1:1 from this amazing post here:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much ... tored.html

Maybe have a new section on the new website called "For Beginners" explaining gain staging in the Nebula/Acqua world.
I´m guessing a lot of young folks don´t have any experience with this.

SMPTE and EBU recommend ITU 1770 metering for 21 century audiovisual productions instead of legacy VU or PP meters.

Yes Enrique and lately my metering has changed to EBU, i mostly
use EBU meters now...the Hornet plugin is kinda weird. it is AGC
but it does not work as it supposed to work.
