Re: Amber presale started
btw this eq is incredibly good.
It is a strip channel: it is a 4 band eq AND a preamp.
Betatesters requested a particular feature: you can disable the preamp just pushing the big amber button, which acts also like a vu-meter. So you can disable the preamp and use a very surgical equalizer tool. When you enable the preamp you get the fabolous sound of this famous analog and expensive device.
As usually the price is 3% of the original hardware value, so a BIG deal.

Re: Amber presale started
well, magenta is a "tube" eq. This one is different exactly like in the hardware (you can guess easily which device is). Just google the original hardware product, and comparisons with magenta. A lot of engineers bought both devices, because they reach a very different result using the former or the latter
Re: Amber presale started
orange and red are good but "cheap" devices.
You could buy red eq for about 100 eur, orange for 300-600.
Blue is around 1700-1800.
This one is around 3400 eur at least. It is an industry standard, you can't live without it.

Re: Amber presale started
The demos sound great on this one. I love what it's doing to all the examples.

Re: Amber presale started
So this is not the 'mastering' version of the hardware I assume? Rather its less expensive brother?
Re: Amber presale started
it is the 55 version (3400 eur), not the 77 one (around 15000 eur here in europe). 77 will be released around the middle or the end of 2015, at an higher price (a lot higher!!!!)
Re: Amber presale started
we'll try to release a demo plugin, but I dont know when. - both for amber and magenta. It sounds very differently from magenta. If you like the hardware, this is a big deal - for 90 eur you get a rather expensive sound
Re: Amber presale started
How will it compare to the Silk EQ in terms of CPU load?
Re: Amber presale started
Congrats!
1) The demos sound very good. Can you please post some info regarding the settings you have used?
2) What about the GUI (this time). The pictures are 3D as they were regarding Magenta. Can you post some pictures of how it will look on the plugin - or is that not settled yet?
I really hope that you have abandoned the tiny, tiny fonts and go for visibility and good contrast - the 3D pictures are promising in that respect!

Hi Giancarlo,
Can you please answer the CPU load question?

Anyways, yes the GUI looks nice, but I still wish you would consider making the font a little larger. Strange thing - there seems to be a difference in font size between the 'Mid' section numbers and the 'High' section numbers to the right of the 'Amber' logo.
Example: look at the number 2 and 3 in frequency 220 and 340 'Mid' section and compare the font size with 2 and 3 in frequency 2k5 and 3k5 in the 'High' section. There is a significant difference in size. I like the font size in 220 and 340 the best - obviously.
I also think you could use a larger font on the text: 'LOW' 'MID' 'HIGH' or use bold so they stand out more.
The knob design is nice! However, I still wish you would consider reducing the S***** effect a notch or two so the numbers stand out more clearly.
