A Golden Legend.

Gold3 is a VST/AAX/AU plug-in suite representing the ultimate choice for anyone willing to incorporate the sound of legendary vintage British consoles into their workflow.

Gold3 now includes 8 different equalizers, 2 extremely rare compressors, 7 preamplifiers (for a total of 52 preamplifiers available inside the GOLD3PRE standalone version).
To provide you with such an extensive choice, we took a small trip to Tambourine Studios in Malmo, Sweden, to sample the extra models off a beautiful console - the same where all of the Cardigans' albums were produced - and formerly owned by Swedish super-producer Tore Johansson (a-ha, Tom Jones, Anouk, Melanie C).

Gold provides you with a complete virtual console emulation, and a useful routing control section, making this one of the most comprehensive Acqua plug-ins we created.

“It’s no secret that the sound of our creations is different from all the others. Nobody can deny that they are unique in just about every respect. Our approach is based on sampling. By using FIR filters we have also a clean, almost alias free signal with a beautiful frequency/phase response up to Nyquist frequency. Long kernels allow to reduce ripple without introducing the typical errors of IIR implementations (no oversampling needed, no de-cramp filters, no lowpass filters, no phase issues or approximations”. Giancarlo Del Sordo - CEO

Calling our plugins digital emulations would be an understatement. They belong to a completely new dimension, which we called Dreamware. It transcends both analog and digital giving you access to a cutting-edge technology that marks a revolution in the audio industry.

Our Anthology captures the spirit and essence of our plug-ins. The goal was to provide all our users with the best collection of vintage hardware. We are improving on our own technology day after day, in order to create the most faithful emulations on the market, striving for perfection.

GOLD 3 consists of:

- GOLD3 (Channel-strip):
- GOLD3 PRE (standalone preamps module)
- GOLD3 EQ (Equalizer standalone module);
- GOLD3 COMP (standalone compressor module);

To help you fully unleash the true potential of your mixes, you can use the individual modules of GOLD3 channel strip as separate plugin processors, giving you the possibility to use each component separately, for even more versatility and a significant CPU optimization.

Core14 AI introduces our breakthrough AI Deep learning (IRIS™) technology. Learn about all the new implementations HERE.

We have teamed up with several professional engineers from all over the world to feed GOLD3's AI with some good knowledge. The resulting presets are already available, we are planning to add others in the next few weeks.

-Create a user account (if you do not have one yet) on our website
-Download and Install Aquarius, our products manager, for either Mac or PC
-Log in to Aquarius using your user email and password
-Type the product name in the 'search' field inside Aquarius to find the '(trial)' version of the product, then click on the thumbnail or on the 'Install' button. This will take you to the product page (the trial version of a product is also visible in the 'related products' section on the right)
-Select the right plugin format according to the DAW you are using and click 'Install'
-Aquarius will download, install, and authorise the trial product automatically
-Run your DAW. You're set!

The old trial authorisation method - which required the 'LASTTRIALS' code - is now obsolete and each trial version of a product can be easily downloaded/installed directly from Aquarius, for a more streamlined process
Should you see an authorisation error, the reason could be that the product has been already authorised too many times and the limit has been reached

For details about installation/authorization please refer to this page:

NOTE: available sample rates: 96 kHz - 44.1 kHz
48 kHz - 88.2 kHz sample rates packs will be released after the 2019 Cyber Monday (December 03, 2019).

hello, Acustica family!

I'm a relatively new AA user, but I'm in love with the 5 that I've purchased to date...thank you for your innovation and commitment to quality!

below is a post I added to the Gearslutz forum 1 day ago:

"peace, folks!

this is indirectly connected to Gold 3 and is more of a general question re: the preamp sections of the Acustica line in general. kick me out and tell me to post this elsewhere if need be...

currently I own 5 AA plugins: Cream, Coral, Sand, Navy and now Gold.

while I absolutely love what I am getting from them, simply stated, unless I'm really cranking the input and output stages of the preamp section(s), I'm not really hearing the effects of the preamp section. and by the time I can actually hear something, it's practically unusable because it's more noise to my source than anything (and not pleasant or sweet "turn in a mix" noise).

CLEARLY I'm missing something...anyone willing to school me a skosh? thanks in advance!"

Gold3 Strip - input gain compensation

Post by kenbobplus3db » Thu Dec 05, 2019 7:09 pm

Here's a fun experiment: reduce your Gold3 input gain by 10 dB, set your monitor level at a healthy level, switch between different preamp models. After you're done picking up your ears and your woofers, we might want to re-examine the order in which input gain trim and gain compensation are applied.

When switching between pre-amp models, the gain makeup is applied before the input attenuation, this means that every time the preamps are switched there's a sudden increase in gain (by the amount of the attenuation) before the volume returns to its nominal level.

If the input trim is negative, the trim amount should be applied before makeup gain is added, if the input trim is positive, the makeup attenuation should be applied before the input gain is added- though I should think this is less critical given that positive input gain already implies a low signal level.

I've submitted a ticket, but I think this might apply to other Acquas as well.
