As I am deep down in VST hosting research, i've decided to put something handy to Nebula Setups, first

Setup preview

- Save dialog: 'Preview saved setup' option
- Setups Manager: 'Preview selected setup' option

Both options load and show a setup in VST plugin format for preview purposes. Preview is fully functional, so you can check setup immediately without opening DAW.

ATM Windows only, OSX implementation is giving me headaches, as usual, can't really tell when it will be available.

Ok, here is OSX x64 version as well.

As x64 VST comes only with Nebula server, you must have Nebula server installed to have preview working.

I guess 32 bit version will not come very soon, because there is a lot of weird stuff to be done to support Carbon based 32 bit plugins inside Cocoa based Nebula Setups. Anyway i am rather deep into this stuff right now, so anything may happen =:)

Again, make sure you have x64 VST Nebula plugin available and check program's x64 settings as well. If wrong plugin is used for preview, an empty window will be shown.

Yes, there is. It is called default.nmdictionary.

On windows it is located in the same folder as program's executable. On osx it is stored inside app (open package) file - can't remember the exact location right now, it shouldn't be hard to find it.

It's an editable text file in xml format. You can find category descriptions inside - structure is rather straightforward. Also, Nebula Setups uses this file to retrieve available parameters for tweaks list.

Hi Zeb. I use Setup 2.0 right now and Nebula version .602. I see .636 is out, and .640 is due anytime. Will Setup work with these new Nebula version that now out?

I haven't upgraded yet, but i don't see a reason why it shouldn't work. Maybe someone who already upgraded can share his experience.

Anyway, you can upgrade or downgrade, rebuilding setups to the installed version is easy using Setups Manager.

Hope my questions posted in this thread is the proper place.

Since I've just upgraded my Win-32 version of Nebula Server, the next piece is your indispensable 'SetUps' app.

I did the purchase and download from this AA site.

I guess the first part ... waiting for my license. Will that be in a Email ... or in my AA USER section ?

Looking ahead ...

I have quite a collection of custom Nebulas created with your V1[?] SetUps ... Since I have now the latest Nebula install, I'm needing to update all the custom versions.

Obviously the next question ... do I have to redo all of these 'manually' Or can V2 come to the rescue converting the V1 editions.

Thanks again, and look forward to authorizing and trying out the V2

License is coming to your email

You can import v1 setups into Nebula Setups 2 and save them as new, tracked V2 setups. You'll have to do it one by one.

Also, Setups Manager allows you to easily update all tracked setups with the new Nebula version.

For the record, this newest version has always worked famously for me on Windows 8 Pro 64bit, Reaper 64bit.
