(mastering legend. "gml with better highs". rumored it's already being done by popular developer)

Any comments, comparations or aditions are welcome, specially if compared to the above and found better in some aspect.
If you hated any of the above and why is great info as well.
No need to remind us nebula isn't easily good at comps, thanks.

Tim re 660 - can Nebula deal with its program dependent behaviour or can you sketch in the attack and release times in the program?

well i think maybe it could, but it's not specifically set up to do it. there isn't a program dependent section built in. but i think i could figure out a way to do it if i had more FUNs to play with than the 8 that are given, as i mentioned in my 'my requests' thread over in the requests sub-forum. i've asked giancarlo about getting more funs, and he says that they are processed even if they aren't used (the 8 that are there already), so adding more would mean adding more cpu use. but i don't see why he couldn't add them in such a way that only programs that want to use them have them 'activated'.SWAN wrote:yeah Id like that....Metalblast wrote:EQ: Drawmer 1961 !!!

i think if i had access to maybe 10 more funs, i could add some program dependency and make the gain reduction meter a bit more accurate among other things. i think i've got gr meter to be fairly accurate- when there's gain reduction. but if the compression stops suddenly, the value hangs (all comps do this).
as it is, it MAY be possible but i don't like thinking about it because it would mean sacrificing something almost surely. the hardware i used for 609 has 2 release settings that are automatic, and rayphlex hardware has an auto mode, and i think the slick hardware does too. i took measurements/recordings of this stuff as best as i could so that one day if i figure out how to do it i could go back and add it in. i consider most or even all of my stuff to be a work in progress when i release it, and anyone who buys my stuff knows that i update a lot of it with new things. i'd still like to be able to figure out how to add a 'bias' control to my lfo sets (custom tremolo and youreib) and one day maybe i'll figure it out and do it. so the 660, if i do that, it probably won't have the prog dependence on release, but it may get added eventually. or maybe i'll actually buckle down and see what i can do before the initial release, where it might make more of an impact.

Obviously slightly off topic but...ideal world (in other words, unrealistic) E*I REDD 47 console. TG 12345 console. Beatles Altec compressor (E*I RS 124). Fairchild 660 (not just the mojo). There is a load of great classic gear that hopefully will get done eventually.

edit: whoops! we've hijacked an "eq" thread and turned it into a compressor thread. sorry, cargolot...
