Re: Revived Korg DW-8000 through Nebula
I was kind of thinking about doing it like- chip 1+3 to a switch, 2+4, 5+7 and 6+8, thinking that might be cool because you could then have the odd chips in one mode and even in the other. That would go into control nightmare territory and would not be very musical. Two halves may be good. i liked ...

Re: Revived Korg DW-8000 through Nebula
oh and i also gotta say, 75$ for one of these things is an awesome deal- VERY worth it. nice string sounds in your clip! i've always wanted to get my hands on a DSS1 too, with its waveform draw and those filters..... Thanks, I customized one of the presets, the #13 from one of the available banks. ...

Re: Revived Korg DW-8000 through Nebula
i've had an EX-8000 (rack version of DW, without arp) for several years now and i love that thing- favorite synth. man, you can get so many cool sounds with that thing. you can get sounds like from the Terminator 1 soundtrack, other crazy 80s flicks. it's crazy what you can do with it because of ho...

Revived Korg DW-8000 through Nebula
I've become some kind of King of bargain-hunting and keep finding great deals on 80's synths that I repair. Got a Korg DW-8000 for $75 with some keyboard and acid leakage issues, and here it is in all its glory through AlexB's TFT and CDSoundMaster's Revox Nebula programs: http://soundcloud.com/yash...

Re: New Protools AAX support for Nebula?
Choice made for me (see the Off-Topic PT 10 thread) and it's not Pro Tools. I got tired of it. It will be either Reaper or Logic or Samplitude.
marcpl wrote:as a protools/nebula user i'm getting kind of freaked out that i'll have to decide between EITHER protools OR nebula when PT 11 finally comes around.

Re: Look who's here... Pro Tools 10
Two or three notable new ones for me are: 1. New plugin format (not necessarily positive for developers and end-users) 2. More compatibility with disk drives 3. Higher mixing resolution at 32-bit instead of 24-bit (internal remains at 48 I believe) Another thing to note, but it's deep down in the ma...

Look who's here... Pro Tools 10
Looks like Avid now has a release cycle nearly as fast as Google Chrome
Pro Tools 10
I checked and the upgrade for my PT M-Powered 8 is $500... or the price for a new Logic Studio.. *gulp*
Perhaps they couldn't stand having a version number less than or equal to Logic Studio.

Re: Steve Jobs R.I.P.
Felt sad for a good part of the week following the announcement. I will honor his legacy as he was one of the greatest. Surely, an inspiration. If you haven't, watch 'Pirates of Silicon Valley'. Steve's part is quite brilliantly played by Noah Wyle. Reading iCon, iWoz until we get the 'official' one...

Re: OpenCL Support?
It would be very worthwhile on Mac OS X as it supports OpenCL directly since Snow Leopard.
