Re: Getting a decent bass guitar sound recorded DI.
A friend of mine always records his bass through an A****n U5, followed by a dbx160a, with great results. Not even an amp needed The basses and his performance itself are also big part of the deal. I like to spice it up with a standard A*I pre from AlexB, no, or hardly any eq, to a Studer (A800) pro...

Re: Nebula Upper Audio Limit
This.Honestly one of the best parts of mixing on an analog console is saturating channels or pushing things very hard into the master buss, which manages transients in a nice way

Re: Q: "mud" approach?
For what it's worth; I like to set up an easy traditional chain, for instance: N**e/A*I line/mic input-compressor-studer/ampex-ssl line input. This generates a curve/vibe, and it also acts like an equalizer. To clean up muddy frequencies totally depends on the source and style. For instance, when de...

Re: A Nebula Channel Strip with Nyrv Agent?
Last night I got the chance to test Nyrv Agent on my new Mavericks installation (Mac Pro 2.1 hack! ), so far so good. It displays the values correctly, same delay in the displayed values, so writing values could be a good starting point. Studio One v2 crashes when removing Agent from an in...

Re: Libraries idea "TAPE EQUALIZER" / Bias & curve setting
Cdsoundmaster's R2R library 'kind of' has these presets. At lower levels, the highs are more present, and at higher levels, the highs are more attenuated. I use this all the time with any source, works great! The Studer A800 presets from this R2R library are the ones you're looking for. Maybe a bit ...

Re: Patchwork
Thanks, Grabie. Although I feel it kind of defeats the purpose, when I still need to open the GUI to correctly read parameter values. Using a single insert like Patchwork, or the likes can be a real time-saver, and keeps the mixer un-cluttered, but the parameter values from the controls of Patchwork...

Re: Patchwork lost Nebula !!
Wow, good thing to know. I haven't encountered this issue yet; I just started experimenting with Patchwork.
I'll try to reproduce it.
Are you on OSX or WIN?

Patchwork
Since I discovered Blue Cat's Patchwork, I wonder how you guys work with it. Nebula's MIX parameters are read from 0-100%, when assigning a MIX parameter to Patchwork. Are you still opening up Nebula's GUI to read the parameter-values, or can the XML be modified that parameter values can be read as ...

Re: A Nebula Channel Strip with Nyrv Agent?
Does Nyrv Agent display values correctly?
Some hosts only display parameters in percentages from 0-100,
I'd like to know if Nebula's parameter values are mirrored.
