Hardware comparison will come when the library will be finished and available. This is the 1st audio test, not the topic-promotion to sell the library... Some things in Nebula should be improved before the final release.

Here the demo from the channel compressor.

Bass with -3dB GR

Bass Original

Bass with UAD

Bass with CLD CHComp

Kick with -6dB GR

Kick Original

Kick with UAD

Kick with CLD CHComp

GTR -3dB GR

GTR Original

GTR with UAD

GTR with CLD CHComp

Like the mixbuss compressor, the channel compressor and the talkback mic. compressor are sampled alone without unwanted colorations, noise, phase issue from the console circuitry (S*L console has fet switches instead mechanical ones, the summing stage is full of VCA... So, no real clean audio path. I prefer to isolate the single stage). In this mode you can use the preset without over color your mix being free to combine the elements at your taste: Modern White Console with Classic Logic Dynamics, Modern Tube Console with Vintage Blue Dynamics, your DAW with Modern White Dynamics and so on. 8-)

I stop here the audio demo, now I have to return at my work on this console (service) and the vintage tube Pultec is warm :P

Cheers

Alex

Mmm I thought the S*L channel comp was program dependant in the attack - I thought this was not possible with nebula currently?

Not really program dependent: fast 3ms/ slow 30ms.

This sounds really great!

Much smoother than the others, decent analog high end!

Great work .
I'm waiting for this one as its 96

Will there be issues if I want to convert this library to 48khz in NAT?

Wow Just got into the nebula world today, primarily for the EQs but seems I am in for a surprise with the comps.

Very good hearing that you made AlexB...
I have some questions that maybe you can answer or anyone that else have this answer in mind...
digital compressors, the trashold acts to reduce the sound so eminently apparent.
Thresholds of compressor the nebula, not is so linear and perceptive as digital.
and aliasing in the graphics? There are not many, more make any difference to the sound? in the case of the nebula ?
More to be honest I would like to know the real difference between the threshold of compressor digital and the threshold of compressor nebula and the threshold of compressor hardware...
I know the hardware is not as linear, because of Journey of audio in components of hardware, by the laws of physics it is believed in the changes caused by this trip.
I am even very happy with the compressors, I would like to address this question to enrich the knowledge of the nebula.
For that is precisely in the threshold that I feel a big difference...

Hi Mimi,

Just scanning the site ...

The threshold setting of compressors is the level
at which the [compressor] circuit becomes active.
Signal above the [initial] threshold is not acted on.

Sorry for the quick response.

Aaah, the perfect answer. Good luck with the final tweaking, this looks to be a real monster. The solo instrument test clips sound very promising.

New demo with 10:1 ratio and -12dB gain reduction

Here the compressor works as an FX to pump the mix!

Original Mix

Mix with Waves

Mix with The Glue

Mix with CLD MB stock

Mix with CLD MB mod

*WOW! Now i no why people say they only use hardware comps on the 2-buss, The difference in sound stage is huge! It just sounds so musical with a sense of depth iv never heard in any software compressor! I was about to pull the trigger on the Mcdsp 6030 Ultimate Compressor, but after listening to this i dont think im gonna buy a software compressor again  Kudos to Alex on this one!
