Every plugin has HUGH latencey and crackles

Post by orangetreestudios » Tue Dec 26, 2017 2:13 pm

Hey

I still at the demo stage of this company. so I downloaded the demos stuff for evaluation. but this is where the fun stopped.

There are 2 plugins. (i.e GoldT & GoldTZL) - Both are the same thing. so guessing one is perhaps a light version?

Anwyay. - I cant use any of them, as soon as its loaded. - If I move the knbos there is about a 5 sec delay before the sound changes. so working in realtime is impossible. - and moreover, everytime I do that move, or press a function button in the GUI, I get peaks at 100% CPU and Crackles pops..

So CPU Spiking mixed with Crackles and pops...is NOT a good thing.

This is a empty session with just a accoustic guitar stem loaded.

My PC is a Studio designed PC that is capable of running Hugh sessions with many plugins/synths loaded.

But here.. I cant even load one.

Please someoen advise? or is this company just not for me?

ZL stands for Zero Latency. The zero latency versions far from being lite version, chew up your CPU. From what you've said about the crackling, it sounds like a buffer problem to me.

use the pluginversion without the ZL ending.
set your asio buffer in your daw to 1024.
try again.
system 1: windows 8 32 bit - samplitude prox/x3, tracktion6/7, reaper
system 2: mac osx yosemite - reaper(32+64bit), tracktion6/7(32+64bit)

both systems on: macbook pro (late 2009), core 2 duo 3,06 ghz, 4 gb ram, graphic: nvidia geforce 9600M GT 512 MB

Yes I had worked around the crackles. indeed buffer size was a issue, was set to 512.. (thats still high though) - 1024 seemed to fix that issue.

Sadly though the plugins are still unusable in real-time as there is a GUI latency. - I have the fastest SSD/RAM and CPU currently out there on the market today.

IS there anything else Im doing wrong?

It almost sounds as if you expect neb/acqua to run like regular algo plugins and that's just not the case; it's hardly a secret. You generally can't have many tracks and/or instances of Nebula/Acqua running at once. You really have to find the max your computer can take and stick around that amount. Otherwise, you need to freeze tracks that are mostly done and unfreeze if you need to make tweaks/changes.

If you want to use an Nebula or Acqua in real time, for example when tracking, then use the ZL-version. It's more CPU hungry, but there's no latency.

i suggest you to test your machine latency with latencyMon and DPC Latency Checker. You need the best tuned system possible. Here some good guidelines to start:

there are many things that could make your system slow, interface driver, incompatibilities, etc
Dual boot /LGA 2011 /i7 3820 /32 GB /GA-X79S-UP5 / osX 10.9.5 - Win 10
Mac Book Pro 2.4 Ghz / 8 Gb / osX 10.9.5
Prism Sound Lyra 2 - RME-Fireface UCX - Octamic XTC
Nebula 4 Cubase Pro 9.5 Wavelab Pro 9.5 Reaper 5.975 Ozone 8 Pro Tools 12.5
