Again, please tell us the date when pre-sale for Gold ends.
It should not be this hard to access this information.
I know it's usually a 30 day period but support have said it will end "very soon" as if Gold will be a different case.

Please clarify.

Finally getting the chance to use this on a mix. Loving the EQ - sounds magical and wonderful - like everything you could hope and dream for in a vintage N sound... Kudos AA.

The comp... it's tough to know how it sounds because it acts so bizarre. I have normal levels which cause any other AA compressor to compress appropriately in various ranges from mild to slamming, and no GR on Gold... So I boosted input and reduced output like 20 dB... the needle is barely moving on Gold Strip and the individual comp. Curious how this isn't an enormous topic of discussion for everyone - I've only seen it mentioned here and there but I had assumed it was fixed. Am I missing something here? I would hate to have this wonderful tool sabotaged by an extreme difficulty to use it.

Gain staging and levels match what is happening in real world. Just go hotter
Threshold is set to +10 (so your -8) and you have 30 dB range
There is "nothing" to fix, just go hotter

Sounds good, G - thanks for responding. I'll save my opening presets with the inputs cranked +24 outputs down +24 and see how that goes.

That works great. I suppose it should also be noted that the Linear ratio is extremely subtle compared to even the 2:1, so the compressor can get very heavy as soon as increase beyond Linear much more easily.

Linear ratio means 1:1, there is almost no compression there!

At 1:1 ratio ... does this suggest the compressor is acting as a PreAmp ? If so, do we have harmonics ? Can be driven ?

I would have thought so too but the way myself and other people's calls for simple clarification on the matter are being ignored by support and Giancarlo, maybe there is another plan....
It does say pre-sale can be withdrawn at any time at AA's discretion in the Amethyst disclaimer... perhaps this is the new way of working.

Is there a particular reason why GOLD doesn't have the low end from the 1093 eq with the bell curve? Is this not a strange omission as all of the other low frequency curves are shelves? I find the narrower bell curve useful for kick drums etc...

Agreed...it's conspicuous by its absence, indeed. It would be like Navy not having its low end. The 8193 module may have not been necessary if the missing portions of it weren't missing.

But hey...that's the Acustica way of doing things!
