Heavy Nebula pre-production

Post by beingmf3 » Thu Feb 26, 2015 3:51 pm

including even Henry's RCA77 on snare (originally a KM184 :)), Titan V2 Kick on the D12, Titan V2 Vocal on the vocals (Shure 545 on each track on the album!), AlexB Pooltec on bass, Fate or AlexB 73 on almost every track, and I'm sure there's an Orange EQ somewhere :)

(final mix on Studer desk with outboard compressors and just a little hardware EQ)

Wow! Great :). I love the drums on this! Just the sort of sound I'm attempting to get.

Thanks! It's a killer set (Sonor Teardrop 1968 w/ no name trash snare IIRC) that simply cannot sound bad. If you can tune.

nice one! :D

sehr schön gemischt finde ich! alle sounds geschmackvoll ausbalanciert. ;)

the only thing that i've heard is, that the sidechannel of the stereomix sticks out a tiny little bit too much for my taste. but that could be intentional also ... :geek:
system 1: windows 8 32 bit - samplitude prox/x3, tracktion6/7, reaper
system 2: mac osx yosemite - reaper(32+64bit), tracktion6/7(32+64bit)

both systems on: macbook pro (late 2009), core 2 duo 3,06 ghz, 4 gb ram, graphic: nvidia geforce 9600M GT 512 MB

The S channel "thing" indeed is the result of the mastering process. Admittedly the drum room mics were set up really wide :) The first version was even wider - but I think this one's really okay. On most "average" systems it sounds very good.
Danke :D
