Beautiful looking interface so far. Love the lit up dials. That is very cool.

I see a compressor and an EQ section. Looking forward to more info on this!

All I need is A*I from Acustica.
Hope this is finally it!

it will look as amethyst 500 series style and i think it is an A*I EQ + Comp... perhaps there will even be more Eqs and not only one :D

My problem is: I have a 550a and i will get perhaps an A*I 527 soon... so i will not get the Pink but perhaps will try the Plugin to compare to the hardware when it is possible. Then i know how good Acustica really is... :D
Studio One on Intel i7 4790k.
Aquas i like are: Lime, Gold, Pink2412, Amethyst2, Honey

Inspired by a 2500 but beware! The product is not meant to be in competition with anything. We are trying to provide a mixing device/strip channel. There is no lookahead, and no auto release. Anyway we feature all combinations of knees and types.

The eq is maybe one of the best of its category - while amethyst is a classic, this is a modern strip with a modern sound, I think we are finally nailing this kind of requirement.
Preamp is very good, compressor features a lot of combinations.

Togheter with amethyst we are trying to satisfy mixing shaping of sound. We are merging classic with modern at a reasonable price

Wait, which? The 550b or 5500?

A 5500eq 2500comp could be a good rock/electronic mastering 'channel strip' but you mentioned that this was more of a mixing device... Either way I'm curious to hear it.

My only request would be that if the 550b was the 'inspiration', can we do away with the 2db increments?

Unit is stepped, completely. Yes everything is possible, they are even reporting they use amethyst for mastering.
I think the path is: acustica plugins are good compared with other tools, and you could use other plugins for mastering -> you use acustica for mastering ahah

Anyway the market position is:
Honey, navy, ochre: professional mixing tools
Amethyst: a classic console channel
Pink: a modern console channel

For pink and amethyst we are interested in being easy to eyes, with a lot of features, low cpu load when possible.
I repeat: no lookahead, no program dep features. They are two eq, they are stepped, they are both very good. They are not homebrew, but we sampled one of them from a famous recording studio, and you know for sure songs released using this device. We'll never tell you more about this, you'll know maybe when I'll die ahah
