Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
is there more added to Amethys3 than a re-sampled eq
and a upgraded comp with Shmod ?
is this the reason why the original release date was delayed, more parts more troubleshooting ?
Thanks

we added a rackmount 9098, separate plugins.
The eq was not resampled, though

Any reason the EQ wasn't resampled? Couldn't you take advantage with your latest breakthroughs (ultrasync)?giancarlo wrote:we added a rackmount 9098, separate plugins.

Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
Because it was already sampled properly
We also prefer the continuous action

Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
Yes, the EQ already sounds amazing! One of my few preferred.
Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
Very good stuff ! I really appreciate your choice of keeping the continuous control for the eq ! Amethyst might be my next purchase
Super excited !

pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
Amethyst 2 is great, eq sound fantastic, can't wait to see this updated. The separate plugs will be a big plus.
Will the updated strip be gentler on the cpu ? Be a bit more responsive (will it be core9) ?

i cant possible see the eq be more CPU efficientTalmiK wrote:Amethyst 2 is great, eq sound fantastic, can't wait to see this updated. The separate plugs will be a big plus.

since the eq isn't a re-sample
and it was core 7 sampled
i could be wrong though

Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
I agree lol. After all the excitement over the last releases this silence is kinda
No real superlatives to describe the improvements to Amethyst as seen previously with other releases.

Re: Amethyst 3 - TBR 10-11th may
it's an update... with a new eq and a fixed compressor (but you could access the previous one with a button if you liked it...)
There are separate modules (eq, comp, preamp), we used ultrasync.. we used ultramatch... like for gold I can guarantee it will be noise-spike free...
We preferred the old core7 behaviour for knobs because the eq is not stepped... the compressor is continuous too (so it is unique in acqua land: you can dial continuous attack/release times)...
Stedal is "improving" the "glove" mode right now (our unit was acting "strangely" in that mode; it's a long story; in any case we are improving the original design with a continuous transition between the normal state and the "glovy" one)
that's all...
