latest mac book pro - AA performane

Post by jockypooh123 » Sat Sep 21, 2019 8:52 am

Just thought I would give a report on my amazing findings

Right so bought the new Macbook pro 2019

Finding it so easy with a huge amount of AA plugs - I was using a macbook pro mid 2014 and a lot of the time the CPU was struggling

New one with 8 cores is barely ever heating up - totally copes with a whole project with big plugs like Azure multiple instances loads of rubys , ivory

Getting the best sound I have always wanted now - totally worth it with the new 8 core and AA combo

Thanks for the report. What sample rate are you working in? Have you thrown any Nebula reverbs at it?

I have the 2018 6-core MBP, working at 96k, more often using N4 instances than Acquas, and I'm barely squeezing by with fans blaring and frequent renderings... (Not to say I'm disappointed, it outperforms my maxed-out 12-core 2010 mac pro tower for example.)

yes what sample rate? and exactly what are the rest of the specs on the MBP?
Due for an upgrade from MY maxed out 2010 Mac Pro 12-core as well!

I can relate to that. I am still using 2014 Macbook and it is becoming so hard day by day to use it. Overheating is just one of the few issues I am facing. The speed has degraded exponentially. Will upgrade soon though.
