Acqua/N4 general discussion and future wants and wishes

Post by jfjer379 » Fri Dec 23, 2016 2:54 pm

ok, i hope we can have a good time in here discussing different acquas/N4 in one thread without being off topic :)
and also discussions or ideas for what we would like to have in future releases

im not going to suggest anything yet because its pointless if no one joins hehe

although i do have some ideas :)

im gonna start with a question

what`s you're future dream Acqua or future dream N4 3rd party lib in 2017/2018 ? :)

Nice one my friend.

I think we have more than enough of EQ and Compressors. Here are my suggestions.

For Acqua, i think what we need for 2017 is a Tape Machine, selectable ips, various tapes etc.

For N4 or Acqua, find those holy grail reverbs from TC, 480L, Bricasti, 140 etc.

Cover all the basis for mixing before going into cabs, limiters etc.

acqua tape and reverbs absolutely :)

acqua tape for fast switching between ips with various tapes
i couldn't agree more

and great choices for the reverb davidgary tc 6000 is one of my favorites but all suggestions are great :)
and nebula plates and springs sounds fantastic

but i wouldn't mind some more control in a Acqua reverb unit
with attack, corus ,predelay,a tool for narrow or widening , some filters, maybe even a mid band eq or two

a little bit like slates new verb with the controls
but with acqua/nebula tech which is superior sounding to just about everything

and perhaps even a couple of pres or console emulation for some extra sweetening
and i would like so see more presets compared to n3 libs for even more control in every reverb sampled

we can do many of these things already but it would be so cool to have it all in one plugin for much faster workflow :)
it would truly improve the workflow

if one of the new 3rd party devs for N4 made this
i wouldn't mind as long as the quality is top notch

i expanded a little on youre great suggestion David :)

Only 1 wish! The ability to go to into the Nebula menu and set a directory path to your programs and vectors located on another SSD or spin drive without having to alter XML files and the whole alternate path mess.

not my only wish, but i agree :)

we should definitively also have a like button similar to GS in AA forum so we don't have to quote every time we agree on something haha

Everyone knows (even its detractors) that nothing touches Nebula for preamp/console/tape emulation. Well, we have consoles with preamps in Acqua form now. But we need...

TAPE: An Acqua version of something like Slate VTM or Waves Kramer/j37 would absolutely DESTROY the competition. With separate plugins to accomodate different routings (as in newest Acquas) other companies will just go home and call mom

REVERBS: Again, Slate is trying to enter in "Acustica territory" with its latest reverb plugin. Show him how it's done!

GUITAR/BASS AMPS: This is the real final blow. I'm a guitarist and I can assure you that absolutely no VST thing comes close to a real amp. It's just physics. The non-linearites that happen whithin the amp and through the cabinet just can't be represented accurately in the digital domain at this point. If I plug my analog overdrive pedal into my interface with a Henry Olonga Nebula Amp, I just want to cry about how good it sounds yet how unpractical and unattainable it is in a proper way (zero latency for tracking).

The preamp/EQ/poweramp layout wouldn't be a problem since they're essentially channel strips. Heavy saturation is one of the Achilles' Heel of Acustica Audio, so as I always say there are vintage amps and bass amps that could be the kickstart. And believe me, people that drool over those amps (that cost a fortune) will be more than happy to have them in an Acqua form.

All guitarists know that VST amp sims sounds good but feel "fake". We just deal with it because there isn't anything better. Acqua guitar/bass amps is the real future! 8-)
