So this plugin also kind of does the console vibe summing thing With the VCA out? That would be awesome to see the gdrive here if so, or an input to drive it and the mic pre.

It's not awsome, it's a sine qua non feature, considering the way gear is sampled. I still can't understand how they can exclude this from any of their products.

I agree it should be a standard feature on all Acquas....not sure if this is the best place to petition for it though.

This should make for a damn nice channel strip. I've used the UAD plugin for a very long time and the filters are excellent. They're fun to automate or use creatively too, as they have a slight resonant peak. The curves are also well-tuned and it's easy to shape mids and push highs without getting harsh. I imagine the Acqua version should sound even better if it's captured well and debugged.

I tracked some drums through the 32c 500-series strips recently too and they were really effective at shaping drum overheads. Really great workhorse EQ, and it's nice to see something besides the usual suspects being redone.

Looks great. To bad to see again those useless gain pots instead of the trim control. At least you should calibrate it internally like the Prime plugins are...

So to get more or less preamp color, you'd have to turn up or down the input/output knobs in Amber and Green (and presumably Magenta). It's often difficult to A/B to see exactly what changes are happening with the preamp coloring. In Ivory, you just start turning the trim knob to see what it does. I find it very useful and great for fine tuning the tone. I would definitely use these features if there were included in any of the other plugins.
This is an awesome feature. I wish all of the acqua plugins had this.
ok received. We'll adopt it in our next products.

What is the CPU draw on this? Is this something that can be put on most channels, or just on a few?

It is around 2-4% of DAW loading for each instance on my system.

Sawstuio x32 2-3%
Studio One 3 x64 demo 3-4%
Xeon E5-2697 v4/Win10 x64/64G ram/ Quadro K620
Reaper 5.974/X-Touch
Prism Orpheus/ RME Babyface Pro

This plug is seriously good. A very useful addition to the Acqua arsenal. Quick intuitive and really quite powerful. A sure fire winning tool with an amazing sound and optimisations mean the cpu hit is very slight compared to the older acquas, core6 rocks! So useful having the hi and low pass and the micpre and vca really add the icing on the cake. People are gonna love this one................a winner for sure!

Questions and a humble request...

Will there be a presale? Will there be a trial? If there is a trial, can the presale price be had during the trial period?

I know this last one makes it not really a "presale", but I don't want to try it then ask for a refund if it doesn't agree with what I want out of an EQ. On the other hand, I always like the presale price. On the other other hand, I am not into taking leaps of faith with my hard earned dollars to save a few bucks anymore as this has not worked out for me in the past and it is a bad experience for both sides.

Conundrum.

Can you solve this inner conflict, Acustica?

How about offering BOTH an "introductory price" (not pre-sale) that extends beyond the release date, and make sure that a trial is available on release day.

This, IMO, is a much more sound business practice and a natural marketing tool as well. I can almost guarantee that you will see better initial sales of this plugin than you would otherwise see if you do this AND market it.

See it as a business experiment. It's one product. Either it will work for you and shape future releases or it will not work and confirm that your current strategy is better. Either way, it is information and experience that you can benefit from.
