Ivory3 TBR on 12th-15th Sept

Post by giancarlo » Mon Sep 04, 2017 10:39 pm

Title says all.
48-88 kHz packs will be released later!
There will be a presale, but we increased prices before! Lucky the ivory 2 owners, the update will be free of charge.

Will this include the channel strip and MAC-3 multiband?

Those dynamics boxes are top. More interesting than their EQs for me anyway, although those are certainly very nice as well.

The multiband is special - it does a great job of taking some edge of highs at fast timings and lets you push a bit of exaggerated high shelf against it for a really nice high end texture.

Same with the lows - a big shelf reaching up into the low mids pushing into the 3 band to keep the sub 100 stuff contained delivers a great bass weight and density upgrade when called for.

Also works as a basic 3 band EQ.
High hopes for the new release...

ok, here a bit of answers.
Plugins to be released are:

ivory3 iae2 -> the standard ivory eq, resampled from the scratch from a gear with 30 days of life, we doubled the gain steps (so the sampling is exactly doubled)

ivory3 mac2 -> a single band compressor, derived from mac3. The new feature is a "clipper". There is no oversampling, but the clipper was modeled after a real gear and it is what happens when you saturate a real console unit. You could disable it in the case. There is a built-in filter, and it is pretty light. We featured also the expander

ivory mac3 -> multiband compressor, 3 bands. We modeled also expanders and clipper. We extended the real hardware quite a bit, it is way more flexible. We matched carefully real units till nulling the result. There was a workshop about it.

ivory iae3 -> stereo version of iae2, with mid/side capabilities

ivory iae4 -> dynamic eq derived from iae2 and mac2, with an other iae2 used as sidechain filter. The architecture is similar to cobalt, BUT we added the clipper and it is slighly more flexible due to better input trim capabilities and additional controls. Also it is featuring STEREO meters (also on the GR)

ivory iae5 -> dynamic eq derived from iae3 and mac2, with m/s capabilities and clipper, stereo meters, a true monster

Now the problem is that we need an awful lot of days for creating a proper documentation and maybe presets for both iea4 and iae5

Guys, it is an hell of update. If is for free for actual customers, but the product will be shipped at an higher price. Anyway we'll have a presale. They are 5 complex plugins as bonus track, so 6 monsters.

Thank you G and AA team for the more than generous update of Ivory for actual owners. You guys rock.

Been waiting a long time for a resample with updated engine and M/S capabilities. Would have been happy only with that. The rest of the features... simply amazing.

I've been using Cobalt Dyneq a lot to add some extra movement to my mixes/masters, as I found hard to use it as a surgical problem solver, due to the nature of the Eq.
Can't wait to try Ivory dynEq. I think it's gonna be awesome.
Did you add a listen button in the sidechain?

Fantastic!

Very pleased to hear the expander functionality is included too.

If the clipper is a success, that's a huge step forward also for the core technology.
