complemetary ivory compressor

Post by SWANG » Tue Jul 28, 2015 10:18 am

hello acustica.

i know you get these questions all the time, but the hardware compressor in this same series the ivory eq is based on is one of my FAVORITE hardware compressors of all time. do you plan to release one for acqua? i, for one, think it would be great to have the eq and compressor in the same series available for us acustica users. *fingers crossed*

We planned it as our next product, but changed our mind and we'll release "Scarlet 400 MHE" before. In any case it is one of next releases. The GUI is ready. It will be a rather COMPLEX tool (it features a flexible routing but a limited range of threshold and makeup gain, exactly like you would expect from a mastering device).

Interesting news! ..just looked at a demonstration of the hardware unit - seems to be a high quality, very transparent mastering compressor.... nice!

Will it be multiband only, or a bundle with a single band as well as Titanuim ? :)

^hmm, the one i was referring to is not a multiband comp. just a regular ol' stereo unit, but one of the best i've ever heard/used.

ivory comp is a multiband. Anyway we sampled also the single band, we could add it

I think that would be really great and appreciated. If Titanium was only multiband, I wouldn't use it nearly as much... but having the options make it a much more diverse and useful tool.

Please consider it... I'm sure many here would be excited about the package.

Thanks,
Benjamin

well i feel a bit silly, but i was thinking the companion piece was the single band compressor (the model "2"), but the multiband (model "3") looks great and having both options would be awesome!

Back when I had my sorely-missed hardware setup I used to run, in a mastering chain - tube compression into a modern 'clean' compressor, with enjoyable results... The hope occurs that maybe the combo of UM with the upcoming Ivory will be similar in concept (aside from multiband) and get me back in the same ballpark with tonal / dynamics control characteristics.. that would be magnificent & I would sure be appreciative..

Never dreamed I would ever be getting excited about audio plugins after approaching nearly 20 years of consistent disappointments / underwhelmed feeling with other developers (!)....

Go Acustica! :-)

Wow, an Ivory comp would be nothing less than amazing! I'm not familiar with the "3" model, but I've used the single band version quite a few times for mastering and I always liked the results. Clean compression with a bit of color. Gives a good final polish to busses too. Are you planning to release it any time soon?
