The SMOD function has really expanded the flexibility of this compressor.

2nd ... each of the Transformer/preamp have their own sound, and all will be used at some point in music style.

Ok I have this wobbly bass line, all over the place, LFOs at different speeds, coordinated with kicks, and vocals and ambient sounds and high percussion all happening at the same time and, combining with the opto section, the Aquamarine discrete section just wallops the wobbles while holding else everything where I want it to be and I can't believe how incredible this all sounds!!! I have never heard this kind of detailed and characterized dynamic control before now. Wow :!:

The Shmod and lookahead together with wet/dry blend honestly make it more useful than the hardware. The tone differences are more a matter of taste.

It's definitely exceptionally good at holding things in place, or creating some current and motion in bus mixes...and that can be blended in subtly for tasteful movement and stable density.

Re: AQUAMARINE3 (AQ3) 88k/48k Sample Rate Support

Post by kenbobplus3db » Wed Sep 07, 2016 5:31 pm

Ok, I had a sad day yesterday. I got out my new Aquamarine compressor and used it on some beautiful hi-rez audio and then noticed it wasn't passing anything above 25 Khz. Arrgh! No 88k support!

Is there any chance you will be releasing an upgrade library to support the 88khz and 48khz sample rates soon?

It is a compressor! Please send us a support ticket explaining us in detail how you reach 25 kHz cut conclusion.

Maybe he's just referring to the preamp section... Just a thought.

I had same problem but I resolve it changing XML like this
<DEFAULTRATEKHZ> 96 </DEFAULTRATEKHZ>
<FORCEDRATEKHZ> 96 </FORCEDRATEKHZ>

Better have 88 and 48 vectors pack

OK two screenshots-
The first is audio with Aquamarine3 the only plugin and active. You can tell from the histogram at the lower right corner that the audio is truncated at 24K. In the second screenshot, the plugin is still active but switched out. The spectrogram is active to 40Khz. In neither plugin configuration is the the pre-amp section switched in, and in neither configuration is either gain element Opto or Discreet switched in.

Here's one more:
96Khz audio, Aquamarine in, and clear passage of audio to the Nyquist limit
