Amber vs. Magenta

Post by Benn1 » Fri May 29, 2015 12:19 pm

Hi all

Sorry if this is a stupid question: Being a Magenta owner and looking at Amber 2 it says "Amber is the perfect compliment to Magenta" ... can you tell me how they compliment each other, when you'd use Amber over Magenta etc?

Many thanks

Ben

Amber has two central EQ bands with narrow bandwidth to make corrective equalization and also very low non lineal distortion.

magenta is a tube eq, and a pultec like. Amber is a class a, very clean and surgical.

There are even better clean devices now, ivory is the first example, a 430 like.

Please note: magenta is not a pultec, ivory is not a 430. We are speaking about the classification fathers(ie green is an other 430 like, even if extremely different from ivory)

I find very few designs with a lot of different colors: ie "docfear" is a pultec and so on. From orginal designs they derived many different products.
