Magenta vs Hardware Massive Passive

Post by persuitofanalog » Wed Aug 24, 2016 9:00 pm

Hello. I am brand new to the AA community. I recently lost a lot of money when I discovered Nebula 3 & acqua plugs

Can't say enough good things about what the guys at AA are doing for my masters and mixes. Love the products and love what the 3rd party developers are also releasing.

Today while using the Magenta acqua....it got me thinking, does anyone own a massive passive and has anyone directly compared the magenta to the massive passive? I am very curious as to how close the magenta is to the hardware? Hope that's an ok question to ask round these parts.

I am actually planning on buying the Hardware unit soon
and can not wait to compare them. I will get few Hardware
units soon which will be parallel with some Aquas.
Prime Total, Nebula Server 3, Scarlett 3, Amethyst 2, Aquamarine 3, Titanium, Magenta 3, Navy, Sand, Pink, Pink Compressors.

i don't know how close Alex B MMeQ is to the HW
but its magical and it beat Magenta easy IMHO
especially the incredible top end in MMeQ

I like MAGENTA pretty much in the Low end , it's got a lot of weight imo . The High side of it is not as good , too harsh to my taste , and yes Alex's library is great as most of his releases ... ;)

PS : I liked the former gui much more than the actual red one ...

We need to add more interpolation steps, especially in the high region
We are scheduling this kind of upgrade for green

Will you be adding more interpolation steps in the high region for Magenta?

I always felt the original Mastering version release had a smoother high end than the final Mix version now available. I no longer use it now but the mids bands were/ are nice.
