One of the best just got better! Gold2 is a VST/AAX/AU plugin bundle, the latest suite conceived, designed and created by Acustica Audio. The realization of Gold2 is the result of our continuous search for vintage and rare outboard processors and our desire to achieve the utmost perfection in our emulations. This bundle represents a one-stop-shop solution for any lover of the sound of the legendary vintage British consoles. The rarity of the emulated devices, the detail of the emulations, and the superb design make this plug-in as precious as pure gold.

We are proud to be giving this upgrade completely free of charge to all of our loyal customers who already own a Gold license.

WHAT'S NEW?

The Gold 2 suite adds an additional uber-rare EQ, possibly a unique piece, and 3 new preamps, each one embodying the original spirit of Gold and providing the most authentic sound of the emulated gear. The suite was also upgraded to our latest CORE 12 tech and features an extended threshold range for better compression behavior.

CORE 12 represents a huge leap forward in our technology. Not only is the CPU load greatly reduced, allowing you to use more instances in a mix, but the sonic authenticity it achieves is simply unprecedented. Plus, Gold's update to CORE 12 gave us both the opportunity to enrich our acclaimed dreamware suite - loved for its unmistakable British soul - by improving on the overall sound of the units thanks to a meticulous denoising process for a final quality that will leave you speechless.

This 2nd edition of the GOLD plug-in series includes: 6 different equalizers, 2 extremely rare compressors, 7 preamplifers (for a total of 15 preamplifiers available inside GOLD2PRE 'standalone version') and a routing control section, making it possibly the most comprehensive vintage anthology to date.

GOLD 2 suite consists of:

• GOLD2 (Channel-strip).
• GOLD2 COMP (standalone compressor module).
• GOLD2 PRE (standalone preamps module).
• GOLD2 EQ (Equalizer standalone module).

For each plugin included in our GOLD2 suite there is a "Standard" version or an alternative "ZL"* version which operates at *zero latency at the cost of extra processing resources and is thus more suitable for use when tracking.

• Release: from 75 ms (fast) to 6000 ms (slow).
• Attack Envelope Shape Modulation (SHMod): from 0 to 4**.
• Threshold: from -50dB to 10dB.
• Ratio: from 1.5:1 to limiter.
• Make-up: from 0dB to +20dB.
• Mix: from dry to wet.

* The 1 star step corresponds to the original 8052 HW limiter curve. 2 stars step is the original attack time of 8054 device. The 4, 8, 16 steps are derived directly from our venerable Lime C mastering compressor. These extra attacks are provided to allow for a more versatile compression behaviour.
** Position 2 gives the original attack time and curve of the modeled compressor. Position 1 gives the fastest curve setting. When going down from 1 to 0, a further look-ahead function is enabled. The range/amount of look-ahead goes from 0 to 4 milliseconds. Values above position 2 slow down the attack time.

GOLD2 (channel strip):
Here inside a single plug-in the user will find a selection of preamps, EQs and compressors. Note that the choice of preamps is limited compared to the standalone Gold2 PRE. However, routing options are also provided, allowing also the possibility to place the filters and EQ racks inside the side-chain path of the compressor section.

The devices included in the strip are:

• 2 rack EQ with selectable models identical to those in the standalone EQ plug-in.
• Compressor section with the same 8052 and 8054 models and controls.
• 7 different preamp options.

LICENSING:

• Challenge-response authorization system allowing activation for two computers per license.

I want to download the trial but it doesn't show up in Aquarius :?
Too many orders....the system can't keep up :D
I'll try again later

In the meantime, a quesion for the hardware/analog experts: what's the difference between Cream and Gold? They give color: but is one more precise, has the other more depth...?

In Cakewalk the meters don't work. Problem with the Water plugins in the project, the gui knobs all resorted to 0/ off.
Then I got the dreaded blow-up

Yeah, of course I ordered it before checking Aquarius, but it was not listed immediately! After 10/15 min I checked again and I installed it.
Great depth, I just don't know if I really need it; I have to test it vs Cream :!:

**UPDATE**

New Gold2 version available on AQUARIUS - release H
it preserves the sound of the previous one adding even more quality and rel H is characterized by totally absence of echobug that we found in GOLD2STRIP (EQ section) and also in GOLD2EQ (standalone version).
This new version could consume more in terms of CPU load so it could decrease the number of instances in a mix but the sonic authenticity is guaranteed.
So if you want an "zero compromise" version you can update to release H otherwise if you need less CPU consuming (more instances loading) use rel G.

NOTE: Please pay attention, release H isn't backward compatible with previous one, please pay attention but remember that Aquarius includes a revert back function to previous versions, so nothing is lost.
Best regards,
Enrique Silveti.

Hi good people,

I just finished this piano piece with synth added. All mixed in Studio One with Acustica Audio new Gold 2 Piano was recorded on a nice vintage N**e 8066.

It's not mastered yet. It will be mastered in Nashville (Welcome to 1979) on tape.

Hope you enjoy
Thank you
