Gold4 is an upgraded version of Gold3, it includes an additional uber-rare vintage EQ built in the '70s, the 8115. The original unit is a vintage Class A/B Mic Pre-EQ with the same design, topology, and components as its illustrious big brother, the mighty 3081.
It features a three-band, semi-parametric equalizer (against the four bands included in the 3081) and a high pass filter.
Initially, these modules were standard in small broadcast consoles. Instead, the version that we sampled reveals more of a 'modern conception' behind it. It is a stereo unit (converted to mono for Gold4) in immaculate condition, that was extremely hard to source, but worth every minute we spent sampling it.
Gold represents the ultimate choice for anyone willing to incorporate the sound of legendary vintage British consoles into their workflow.
Gold4 now includes 9 different equalizers, 2 extremely rare compressors, 7 preamplifiers (for a total of 52 preamplifiers available inside the GOLD4PRE standalone module).
