If you are tired of looking around the internet for the 'best-sounding, more-authentic and god-knows-what-else' legendary passive EQ plugin collection then you have landed on the right page. First and foremost, Purple2 (VST, AAX, AU) is the result of the meticulous sampling of each one of the included machines. We do not use algos. You get what the machine gives. Secondly, Purple2 is a collection giving you the highest number of different 'Purple-style' [pun intended] equalizers on the market - all in a single place - including some ultra-rare units we managed to find and sample for you. If you had to buy all of this in hardware form it would cost you over €10.000! Now you can have all this at a fraction of the price - and no, you're not going to compromise on the sound.

So, what's with the 'new' models?

You may be wondering why we are introducing another M5 into the Purple2 suite? This is a legitimate question, but very easy to answer: we challenge anyone to find two equal sounding units of this kind. The case of our M5 and M5V is a clear demonstration that two faithfully sampled versions of two different models can have differences in terms of sound. For this reason, when we had the original unit in our hands (from which we derived our M-5V), we were really pleasantly surprised and decided to offer you a new "vintage" plugin, very colorful, given its tube nature, and immediate operation

Image

Plus, you get Purple2 H2, which is a passive tube EQ renowned for the ability to both boost and cut the low-end frequencies at the same time and to add an unmistakable analog flavor to your mix. This emulation is derived from a rare and vintage 2U single channel program EQ designed as a compact version of our Purple P1 with a more transparent character.
Purple2 H-2 differs from its bigger sibling however, in that it has different peak boost curves but the same Class-A output stage as the M5 (mid-band EQ). Perhaps the most noticeable difference is the fixed bandwidth for the HF Boost and fixed high-cut at 12kHz.

Image

The Purple2 P-AA was sampled from a 'modern take' on this exquisite vintage classic, which can now be found in many studios worldwide. You will be surprised at the inherent differences between the two units. There is no such thing as 'which one sounds best ?' this time. Purple2 gives you all the possible shades for your mix and YOU are going to be the ultimate judge.

PACKAGE CONTENTS

Purple2 suite includes of:

-Purple2 P1 (Vintage tube-based, passive program Equalizer)
-Purple2 PAA (Tube-based passive program Equalizer reissue)
-Purple2 M5 (Classic mid range tube EQ)
-Purple2 M5V (Vintage classic mid-range tube EQ)
-Purple2 H2 (Vintage single channel tube EQ)

Purple2 is based on our Core 13 engine:

-NEW: Our new Core 13 engine improves on the previous version by introducing our new VLA™ technology (Vector Loading Acceleration), which makes the response of the plugin much faster.
-Upgraded SASM (Symmetric & Asymmetric Saturation Modeling) high-performance saturation algorithm;
-Introduction of a new post-production sample de-noising tech for cleaner deconvolved impulses called STT (Super transient technology);
-Full compatibility with Client/Server architecture integrated by default in Acqua plugins;
-Engine optimization introducing a new highly efficient algorithm. This innovative technique is applied to all the deconvolved impulses for further de-noise processing and subsequent elimination of any incorrect low-level behavior (including the so-called "echo bug").

Product authorization and de-authorization is an on-line automatic process that creates a product license based on your computer’s identification code. This procedure is automatically guaranteed by our Aquarius brand new application.
Its purpose is to simplify and automate the authorization, installation and uninstallation process of your purchased Acustica products (ACQUA plug-ins etc.).

HOW TO TRY A PLUGIN: TRIAL MODE

-Create a user account (if you do not have one yet) on our website
-Download and Install Aquarius, our products manager, for either Mac or PC
-Log in to Aquarius using your user email and password
-Type the product name in the 'search' field inside Aquarius to find the '(trial)' version of the product, then click on the thumbnail or on the 'Install' button. This will take you to the product page (the trial version of a product is also visible in the 'related products' section on the right)
-Select the right plugin format according to the DAW you are using and click 'Install'
-Aquarius will download, install,and authorise the trial product automatically
-Run your DAW. You're set!

PLEASE NOTE:

-The old trial authorisation method - which required the 'LASTTRIALS' code - is now obsolete and each trial version of a product can be easily downloaded/installed directly from Aquarius, for a more streamlined process
-Should you see an authorisation error, the reason could be that the product has been already authorised too many times and the limit has been reached

For details about installation/authorization please refer to the following page: Acustica Audio - Professional Audio Software - Acustica Audio

I am surprised there are crickets chirping on this one. They just combined two products and gave not only sound quality/usability upgrades but also three new samplings for no extra cost! Tough crowd, I guess. :|

That or people are enjoying the weekend with their new tube based EQs? Could be...

Thanks AA, this is a great release. It will certainly be used in my upcoming P**tec hardware vs. software videos. The original P1 unit is still my favorite of the bunch. Having two extra program EQ flavors is great to have though.

Here is another screenshot on a drum track:
Just so I understand, the drum track shows some divergence in the traces, the peak level rolls off on the top, and the RMS rolls off in the low end. I see a red trace diverging from yellow and a dark green trace diverging from light green, but which trace is hardware and which is Purple2?

Likewise, I see no divergence on the full mix traces. Is this because they're perfectly superimposed? I would expect at least a similar difference as shown in the drum mix traces.

Thanks

hej there, I had the same problem, and after communication with support and in the FB-AA group I updated my Win7 SP1 to "SP2" (called convenience rollout for SP1") and now Big Ceil and Purple2 are working.
AA has changed the compiler to a newer version and if your Win7 has not been updated for a while you won't be able to use them.

But it should be fixable with the update mentioned above.
Here is the link with the 2 patches that you need to run: (it's in german, but you just install the 2 KB-patches and that should be it. First the little patch than the bigger one.)

Hope it helps!

thanks fisto,
i did what you suggested re updating win7 with the 2 files but alas, it did not work and purple2, pink3 and big ceil do not show up in the reaper fx browser.
i am thinking about creating a small partition on my system SSD with an install of win10, keeping it simple and then pointing reaper on this new partition to the vst plugins folder of the win7 partition.
see how goes.

I finally figured it out.
I needed the full SP1 and SP2 (Rollup Update).

You have to use Internet Explorer (not my ideal browser) seach for then Install Windows 7 SP1 'windows6.1-KB976932-X64 (dot exe)' at 903MB, then Restart when prompted. (if your system is x64).

Then search for then install Rollup Update (which is kind of SP2) 'windows6.1-kb3125574-v4-x64_2dafb1d203c8964239af3048b5dd4b1264cd93b9 (dot msu)' at 476.9 MB, then Restart when prompted. (again if your system is x64).

After Install and restart x2, start Reaper and Clear cache/rescan.

All good here.
