For SAND is the channel compressor there as well? or just the buss compressor? I really hope you guys did the channel compressor also. It's a very important part of that sound.

I have waited my whole engineering life for this day.
Finally the famous full console sound in acqua.

A and B EQs.
A and B filters.
A and B compressors.
Plus routing.
CORE9 and new features.

Yes, are two bus compressors, not a channel compressor.

I think it has already been said that it's going to be an S*L 4000 and 5000 series. I'm guessing A is 4k and B is 5k.

Excited for SAND, but seems strange not to add the channel compressors. It's not a console strip with out that.

Those channel compressors are special. I hope they will be added in the future.

Truly agree. Recently I worked on a AWS948 and one of the things the more I liked were the channel comps.

Yes, agree. I must say that it is bewildering that you guys have decided to create this channel strip, which will very likely be your biggest release by an extremely wide margin and attract more attention than any other release you have done, yet you are not including the channel compressor?

It is mystifying really. Why did you guys make this decision and are you open to changing it?

It is all but guaranteed that you not including a channel compressor is going to be an absolutely major point of negativity in discussions, reviews and sales of this product.

So, let's just ask the questions directly. Why are you guys not including a channel compressor? Would you agree that it is a mistake not to include one? Are you open to changing the planned product and including one?

I'm also kind of disappointed that the channel compressor is not included, but what's to say it may not come down the road? Also, it could be that, with schmod on the 2 buss compressors, the included compressors really are versatile enough to cover all needs.

That's obviously the optimistic POV :geek:

I agree.
Would rather have the choice to switch between channel and buss than between two buss compressors.

Giancarlo, if you are reading this:
Maybe include the channel as well? :)

That's what I'm thinking. We will see!

I like the channel compressors because they're just so easy. Just pick a ratio around 2 or 10:1 and set the release to fastest or somewhat randomly (seriously) in the middle and tickle the signal until the first 1-2 LEDs light.

Then this is where the continuously variable ratio is nice - use that to fine tune rather than the threshold from here.

Channel comp also works well with the gate module for adding exaggerated punch to drums.
