Sampling reverb offline newbie...

Post by pherson » Sat Nov 06, 2010 10:40 pm

Since I'm on a Mac the only way for me to use the NAT3 sampler is to use VMWare Fusion (virtual PC) and sampling offline.

I manage to generate the test tone(s) (I guess in the case of reverb sampling I should ignore the EA and ER wav's, correct me if I'm wrong)

Ok, so I have test tone, I run that thru my reverb and save that audio file.

Now to the question, where do I choose this file to deconvolve, I guess I should do the deconvolving under the same "offline" tab that I used for creating the test tones? But there is only a Browse button but that seems to be used only to set the save path...

I've tried searching for this but I can't find any info... Is there a manual or detailed tutorial I'm missing?

Thanx

Courtesy bump.

And, my guess is that you create a new session based on a template.
Name the session. Name the file directory (the browse button). Fill in description and category etc.
When you've finished sampling (if still in Nat) you simply push deconvolve and the program knows what files to look for.
If you did the sampling in a different program, go back to Nat and open the saved session (the sampled file probably needs to be in the newly created program folder). Push deconvolve. Et voila.

That's my guess.

Go to NebulaTempRepository folder > Nat sessions > Offline presets > Reverbs and load a Offline Reverb Session. You should fill and check Offline and Expert pages.

Thnx Enrique.
That's exactly how far I've come. But THEN,
when I have my reverbe'd file, where do I go to load that file to be able to deconvolve?

Thank
daniel

Hi Daniel,

it's shown in the pic above.
"Offline" tab -> Temporary Data -> Filename.

You are working offline, so don't forget to remove any additional latency you might have added. (Converter latency, DSP latency from your reverb, ...)
