Reinstalling Nebula over itself...

Post by SteDal » Tue Apr 06, 2010 10:19 pm

A question for Giancarlo (or anyone else in the know):
I understand that 3rd party developers are moving to some form of (well deserved!) software protection for their libraries, case in point the brand new MBC PRO by AlexB.

I've been told that it's better to install Nebula with administrator rights, just to manage these protections without hassles, so I'm wondering: if I reinstall Nebula over itself (same disk, same location, etc.) do I need a new auth file or is the old one still good?
And is it better to unistall Nebula, first?

Cheers, SD

If an installation was some how messed up or for whatever reason you want it "clean" re-installing you can remove it. But when you do re-install, any time, you need to authorize again. Since you are on the same comp, just use the auth file you have already and re-install it. Upgrades: no, only for installation files.
