authorization missing

Post by misterambient » Fri Jul 20, 2012 11:34 am

Last night Nebula suddenly errored on me and even crashed my daw c0000005. First it crashed on VCult, and now every instance just shows init, FTP = 0 Hz (instead of 96000). It just gives a low screaching sound... It tries to debug and says 8: missing authorization.

Do I need to reinstall the full version and then the upgrade .504 64 bit? I have the .ser file and the AITB libraries are AUT too...? So strange.

Yes! I need to get a project done today as well. The computer isn't even connected to the internet. A timebomb? I backed up the xml's but wanted to ask for help on the forum before re-installing etc. Hope it'll get sorted out quickly.

Same thing happened to me. I'm sorry for your troubles but there is a comfort in knowing that it is not just me.

I tried requesting a new license via the webpage. I sent in my SER-file again.

The website thing is not working. Never has been working actually. Send your SER to [email protected] instead.

Mine too but fix with reinstallation of auth.
I guessed it's due to disk error from power loss but obviously not.

Perhaps a long shot but the last thing I did before it stopped working was to download a new authorization for my UAD-1 card. It reset all my demos for that card. Could it be that it messed with the registry and therefore broke my Nebula licence?

Here's an emergency fallback if you - like me - tried to press "render" on a very important project on a timeline and then noticed that all 50 nebula instances are set to what the OP wrote (0 Hz, authorization missing etc.) and your mix sounds like crap:

- Uninstall nebula
- Set back system time to somewhere in April
- Install nebula with the oldest installer you can find (Setup, I tried with 1.5.464 or something)
- Upgrade to current 504 (Upgrade)
- Now there's no "program #0 invalid" anymore - you can render your stuff, everythings fine.
- Wait until the devs have sorted this out.

Basically the problem lies within that starting from today the most current installers can't generate valid Init.N2P and .N2V. So when you install from a current installer, it'll go immediately to "program #0 invalid" or "authorization missing", not generating .SER etc.

Thank god I never delete old installers !!!

I was able to solve the problem for now by just running Nebula3License.exe again. Presets, mast and xml are unchanged, fortunately.
