i got allmost rid of the long conversiontime by changeing the value "set conversion priority"(dont remember how it's called exactly) in the mast page from "lower" to "higher". it still needs to convert the programs then, but it will convert them a lot faster.
This parameter doesn't seem to exist in the master page as far as I can see??
If you mean the rate cnv setting it is recommended for many libraries to have this set at 3200ms or more.

The whole 44k vs 96k is more about using other plugins as well. It is well known that plugins add all sorts of aliasing that compounds the more plugins you use on that track.

Working at 96k eliminates most of the aliasing in dsp processing to acceptable amounts.

Working at 44 OTOH allows me to use Nebula massively, so I won't need to use other plugins that alias.

Thanks brp...will try playing with this setting a bit. I assume you haven't noticed any negative side effects?

Cheers
Grim.

well, its actually like this: in the taskmanager you can change the priority of a certain program. this parameter does the same for the loadingprocess. if you set it to higher, then all the ressources are going to be used for it. that means you would eventually notice some crackles while audioplayback, but only while the new program is loading. for me this is a fair compromise. but you have to decide for yourselve.

snap comp

and nuke comp

Exciting news. I hope more news will follow about improved compression soon. Although I'm very happy with Fate, 168 and 165
