Mixing and Mastering compressors
Anyone who has ever wanted the ultimate tube compressor that can bring a vocal forward, add a little air, hold the dynamics in place and add a size and dimension to the audio without that audio getting cloudy has realized their wildest dream!! This compressor personifies all that is good and right with tube compressors that actually use the tube in the gain reduction circuit. Two compressors sampled here: Mixing and Mastering from last release 12/2011, the Mastering unit has Mullard and Siemens tubes.

I got a question. Since Nebula can't reproduce really fast attack times, are Vari Mu compressors more accurate due to their slower attack and release time?

Looks like a really nice addition to signaltonize's DME1968!

I'll check the demo tomorrow, but thinking about the price of the original unit I think I'll bought it anyway 8-)

EDIT: I just checked it before going to sleep. One of the most transparent compressors I heard ever. I'll have to check the other programs, but this is a killer...

I just started playing with this in a full reggae mix, and am replacing all of the comps in the vocal tracks for now, and this sounds great. My old analog ears are very very happy so far! After the mix is done, I am going to try the mastering presets on the same tune.... I am expecting glorious results!

Been using this today and it's my favourite Neb compressor by far, thanks Alex.

Alex if you read this - would be interested in what you have to say about this thread I just made. The Phoenix being one of the outboard units I've most wanted got me thinking about my other Thermionic love, the Culture Vulture.

I do own VM from Eric and I´m so happy with it so I'd like to know what differences or best uses you(the guys who have both) do find between these 2 comps. I know they are different machines and I´ll buy Fenix too when I can afford it(it´s low price but not the best time here), but I´d thank any info about it in the meanwhile. Maybe any audio test?

The demo is a MIX comp so it wouldn't be a good evaluation comparing it to VM, being the last a mastering one.

Got the full version this morning and have been playing with it for about four hours now.

This comp is absolutely beautiful on vocals and really brings them forward amazingly well.
It also controls their dynamics with a degree of transparency that you just can't get from any other comp in the nebula range.

From now on when I reach for a compressor to put on vocals this with be the first one I reach for.

Don't suppose you could do an Innertube Audio Atomic Squeeze Box next by any chance could you Alex?
