The "My hybrid Nebula EQ" thread

Post by Fishmac » Mon Jul 26, 2010 3:01 pm

Hi Everybody!

since we are fortunate to be able to select many different hi quality eqs now, i would love to see your combinations of bands that work best for you! this could be very useful to get information regarding the strengths of eq programs. even if you never connect programs like this, just name the programs you use in favor!
i will start:

Lows: Mammoth for power, GEQ for transparency
Low Mids: BMQ (great for adding 700 hz bass "presence" and fullness)
High Mids: BMQ for punch, Nice EQ for a nice presence
Highs: GEQ for mixes (i LOVE what the 9k program does to open up the sound), Doc Fear or Mammoth for silk

Great thread guys!
However I must say, I used Mammoth and Doc Fear for all bands til now.
But I absolutely agree that they both add a lot of silk on the highs.
IMO, the Mammoth more than Doc Fear. Gonna check your EQs...

i found using FATE eq on almost every track, its a great all-rounder, and it really colors the sound of the overal mix in a good creamy way if you use it quite a bit.

Vocal/Air - Doc fear high
Bass / Kick - Fate / Pev / PevB
Drums bus/High boost - Mammoth
Guitars - R2R Tapes / Fate
Vintage coloration/Sparkle - Bogen

Master - AlexB VMQ
