Hi guys, i did a couple of videos with Tim's VB Plate, hopefully you can get an idea of it's sound:

Thank you very much, this Tim's VB Plate has a glorious sound
It's because of gracious contributors like you that I will finally buy N4 and all TimP products, thanks again !

Tim if I'm working at 48 would you recommend using the 96 sample rate? Or is the effect of any SRC negative enough to use a different plate?

when using my libraries-

If you can use the sample rates given to match, same with any of my libraries.

If you use src, especially down sampling-

1. you risk truncating preringing, giving a 1.5ms pre echo bug. Basically the preringing can get long from a steep src, it is then truncated by 1.5ms offset. if you are up sampling this might not be so much of a problem as it's possible the filter may not affect the higher sample rate.
2. You can get interpolation errors, usually because of a flip in phase(not a issue with reverbs as much but much more of a issue with eq)
3. The amount of ringing is much higher (debatable-steep cut off filters can cause lots of ringing, In some cases it's possible this modulates into the audible band with certain listening equipment or when Inter modulation occurs, subtle but may audibly changing time domain responce)
4 .Longer loading times.( src conversion time)
5.It can sometimes negatively affect phase.
6. sometimes reverbs cannot src properly in nebula. Not sure why this happens

I designed a conversion filter that outweighs other src filters IMO. The ringing is tiny, after many years of experience this is what I went for.

No problem! My pleasure!

Hi Tim! Use VB Plate reverb with 512 dsp internal nebula buffer. It's enough for long kernels or better up to 1024?

I suggest a higher buffer because of this to save cpu. 2048 or more.

It does not affect the sound quality? You mentioned earlier that you need to use default nebula dsp buffer with youre libraries. i.e 512)

my reverbs have a slower program rate so a bigger buffer will not affect this parameter. Also the slower program rate is also to reduce any artifact in this Particular case too.

Oh i see, thanks for the clarification.
By the way, reverb is stellar! I'll use it as the main fx now +)

Made an N4 Setup with DSPBUFFER at 4096 or higher and it loads really fast + CPU floats around 10% ;)

Brother of the VBP, vintage gold reverb

Sampled with great care, this is a very low artifact sample set of the Classic 240. The low noise avoids any added brightness to the impulses.

4 sample rates
All in one Interpolated lengths
Clean and Harmonic versions
Jpn N4/N3 skins, 2 styles of skins provided

VG reverb update from Tim:

just made a little fix to the short times. I've improved the
interpolation in the lower region, the reverb was overlapping on the
lowest samples,
now this means the short times are much shorter.

the new zip is named VG_REVERB 18_10_18 in your accounts area.

Important-

If you have this reverb in a saved project and wish to install- please
load that project remove the reverb instance, save the project. Then
install new programs and vectors, reload your project and reinsert the
reverb, this is because the programs n2p's have changed.
