I'm experiencing the same thing. Sounds like a stuttery glitch sound, but different from the DAW itself stuttering.
It looks like we found the issue. It had to do with how my buffer size was handling kernel lengths. If your buffer is really high, try lowering it to 512 and see if the artifact goes away. (512 is the lowest you can go to cover the kernel lengths in this program.)
