This is the big round compressor!!!

Image

Based on Modern version Of a 50’s classic. This comp is more versatile you may first think.

Features-

-Proper feedback detection

-Single and Double/triple modes (Double and triple modes are based on subtle dual release)
From approx 0.5- 30seconds release for ultimate tuning versatility, exponential release means long times always stay musical for Rms leveling.

- Release control
-attack control added, giving both Double/triple modes and everything in between. Single mode has also a extra attack

-Extra Part Linear release presets for fastest/longest release times on low gain reduction (Longest will be similar to a HOLD MODE), The sounds is more reminiscent of a modern comp, possibly better for drums. Note these presets are also program dependent, so they will still change the release time on certain material.

-Clip preset

-Program dependent release giving a 3 element release (exponential, control and Program dependence)

-Lower cpu than previous comps

-Two meters types M1 (Gain over threshold with attack and release characteristic, more similar to the hardware) and M2 (Normal Gain Reduction)

-bused Meters, for smoother action

-Last but not least...JPN SKINS

Below a example of program dependency (Old skool auto release) from simulated discharge of capacitor.Notice the compressors release getting gradually faster. It was in a fully charged state going to a full discharged state. In this example I tried to make it as obvious as possible, using a fast release and changing music style abruptly, In most cases this would go unnoticed.

Awesome! Are you able to be a bit more specific about the hardware used for this library, as well as how this might compare to say Ultramarine?

Cheers

It seems to be this.
SoundOnSound said about the hardware "it does the same thing for audio that a spoon of creamy honey does for a cup of tea"
:D

Amazing sounding comp that is yet a incredible tool for mixing vocals for me
im not saying this works great only on vocals
but still it is killer on vocals if that's important to the customer

Can't wait to buy this this weekend.

I plan on getting a very similar hardware compressor. So it will be nice to have one for tracking and Nebula for mixing.

Awesome work Tim.

No time for a full review ...

but, be sure to try it on sources like: Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Bass, Horns, VOCAL ... even BUS.

In early testing, it was used on a Mastering session.

... just another Great creation from TimP

A lot of people are going to love this. It goes from subtle to HUGE and everything in between.
It does that really long compression effortlessly and never losses clarity/focus.
Theres a big range of sound shaping options but still very simple to use.
Vari-level is a massive jump forward in Nebula compression & thats saying a lot as we've had some good ones lately.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

I think this library may of taken the greatest amount of hours of any library I've ever done. Luckily some of these things can be applied to new or old library's if they are ever needed.

Purchased on day one! Been loving this comp on vocals and bass... It absolutely has magic in it that can't be achieved with any other tool - super thick, round, and edgy as well. Great work again,Tim!

I'm curious about one thing: how are all of you finding the extremely long release useful? In my use so far, and in theory, I'm not sure why I would need a release much longer than 2-5 sec at extremes, so I'm wondering what a 30 sec release brings to the party - I can see it being useful for controlling macrodynamics in mastering...

Hope this is interesting and helpful to someone other than myself! :)
