AlexB: W95S (German Mastering eQ) - New N4 Skin !

Post by AlexB » Mon Sep 19, 2016 4:05 pm

Hello,
the W95S library released !!!

Legendary Mastering Equalizer
The iconic sound of "The Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd was mastered with this German eQ, as was 90% of all vinyl discs made between the 1970´s and 1990.

The unit has been completely refurbished and returned to the original as new conditions. This technical intervention restores the unit to the original sound and it can then rightfully be called “vintage”. It's the same sound you can listen on thousands old hit records.
The most critical, and most difficult task is to refurbish the unit without making changes to the original character and sound. This is achieved by the thoughtful choice of the right electronic components, and expert skills and experience in electronic engineering.

. High Quality programs with full dynamics and harmonic content
. Special light edition "le" programs (CPU friendly)
. Low Shelf: 40Hz, 60Hz, 100Hz +/- 15dB
. Low Mid Bell: 175Hz, 250Hz, 350Hz, 500Hz, 700Hz, 1000Hz +/- 10dB
. High Mid Bell: 1kHz, 1.4kHz, 2kHz, 2.8kHz, 4kHz, 5.6kHz +/- 10dB
. 0.25 to 1 Q
. High Shelf : 7kHz, 10kHz, 14kHz +/- 15dB
. Special AlexB skin For N4 and N3
. No C.P. !

W95S replaces the old German Mastering eQ only, which was included in the old GMC library and it can be upgraded by sending and email request. Upgrade costs 8,00EUR.

Please, check the website and download the user manual and try the Demo, it has the same audio quality and performance of the commercial release but with some restrictions.

This EQ rocks, truly.

It's such a great teammate with the MMeQ for more color or those special shelving shapes and Ely X if some clean precise in-between adjustments are needed.

I'm also a big fan of Tim's Surge EQ for notching alongside Alex's programs.

I think I can happily just stick with one last HW EQ at this point. Amazing times for digital audio.

I've tried AITB version of the w95 and the high shelf is one of the smoothest I've ever heard. It's the kinda EQ you reach for when you want it to be brighter and incredible smooth (wifi/"hard, clean" kind of smooth, not wooly), deep and analog. I guess it tames some high transients while still makes it brighter? Great for OHs and vocals.

Yes. I often used to add the earlier version (German Mastering Console) on overheads or drum bus for exactly that reason on the cymbals. Put it in between the console line inputs and output bus (chocolate or creamy), it's even better.

Ask Alex by email, the skin is free for the owners of the library : https://www.alessandroboschi.eu/html/alexb/contact.htm

A you sure? AITB doesn't have the N*****n W495STB, only Siemens W295b, Telefunken W695, TAB W95c, N*****n W492 in case of german eq's.
