lubomba wrote:Interesting News! Alex, is the new compressor tech the same used for the newest acqua plugs? will they allow "proper" compression without the well known artifacts? I thought we have to wait for N4 because only multiple instances could do that...
about acqua no, there would be technical limits. Acqua are already using the n4 engine

Nebula is based on the n3 engine: prog rate can go faster, which reduces artifacts, but not faster than 400 microseconds or use safetly more than 1.5 milliseconds of lookahead.

If you happen to mix HipHop, R&B or electronic music make sure to give the "Modern" program a go in your master bus.

The console update sounds excellent! Waiting on the others still.

Comparing the 'modern' mixbuss of A16 and MFC is interesting as well. Both very nice options when you need some sheen and heft. Just make sure you start the mix with it inserted, and EQ you channels with mostly midrange sculpting in mind. The 'smile' EQ curve can otherwise be a bit too powerful, especially if you've been pushing channels at 60Hz or 5k and above.

Like Mercado says, it's definitely a great fit for R&B or electronica mixes.

I alway use mixbuss flat, I make the final master eq adjust with a hardware gyraf g14 and all new alex eqs. These new libraries are pure "hardware", now I feel I´m using a "real" console, more than ever...

I must say, I am really happy with my crayon box. Definitely a great library. Lots of use for me. With Alex, Tim, and Aqua... Wow. Just wow.

I'd like to see a stepped gain version of the A5M.

Wouldn't that be the A5B ? It has the same frequency choices. I'm not sure about the 'Q', but the 5B is stepped.

I'm posting this because I'm curious if there are sonic differences between A5B and the A5M.

To further this, I've read that the difference of the A5A to the A5B was an extra band ... but the libraries docs show different freq choices too.

thanks for any help to this.

I just downloaded my updates of the A16, A5A, and A5M :)
