I hear ya, sort of. I don't remember the thread, but Tim Wisecup (Cupwise), in reference to one of his compressor libraries, said pretty clearly that his more extreme "pass-through" presets do indeed impart very noticeable compression. And yes, they are "doing" But I am not one to argue, I am just throwing out some clarification for information's sake. But yes, if someone wants to purchase a compressor library, I would not point them to a mojo preset. I always tell people to try all presets in any source and usage and see what happens, I am often very pleasantly surprised at the results I get doing this.
