NEW SCS release 2 color boost pedal!!! 9/9/2014

Post by Tim Petherick » Wed Oct 02, 2013 3:17 am

Release 2! Color boost

A classic 18v operation guitar eq.

Image

added n4/n3 skins 07/01/2017

The program comes with Treble,Bass and a output control to avoid clipping nebula. Color boost is sampled dynamically, so it has a very 3d sound to it. As you see from the graphs on my website you can get a huge treble boost! That almost can sound like a filter when the bass is at 0.

Purchase for only £6 here

Color boost comes in 4 sample rates 96, 88.2, 48 and 44.1 khz with 10 kernals of distortion in each.

Release 1

TREBLE AND BASS Pre/eq is the first in a series of colored presets for Nebula and this first release we have a vintage tube amp.

The presets have Treble and Bass controls , this reflects the amp.Input(GDRIVE) and SATURATION(Harmonic level) controls are on each preset.
Tube amp Eq is capable of a good amount of drive for Nebula ,the distortion character comes from a Mullard ECC83/12ax7 input tube, this is followed by the Eq section. The eq section boosts up to 20db of Treble and Bass! This is a tone shaper!. If your trying to give single track that analog edge this is a quick way to get there. It can be used for mixing,or it could be used for what it was originally intended for which is a Pre/eq for guitar/instrument before going into a poweramp/cab preset. Doubling up on instances can give you a good amount of drive. These are my most colored presets to date but still with the transparent tight sampling quality!!!

Yep, loving this Tim. Nice grit and color.

I whacked it on parallel to a track I was mastering to bring back some high frequency content and add some grit.

Here's the original:

And here it is with the parallel channel with your pre-amp (treble up all the way):

I'm a bit of a hack with mastering but I like the character of the highs now and it really brought out the brushed snare and added more grit to the brass.

Top work.

Is this sampled from the Selmer guitar amp?
I mean there is a Treble and bass amp from Selmer from 60s

That's really cool....

I had been using it in a similar way the other night.

This release is AMAZING! Check out the amount of distortion possible with no artifacts and great tone!

Hi Tim, will this work fine without the latest Neb update? (I'm holding off on that since there seems to be a few bugs that need to be addressed - as you would expect).

It works fine on 505!

Here is an example loop i just made, turning a crap sounding softsynth into something much better:

http://www.learndigitalaudio.com/blog/w ... xample.zip

There is a before an after FLAC file in the .zip, try a-b'ing it looping.

It could be even more distorted, but I tried to make the sound how I wanted it.

The standard preset with bass and treble all the way down does add a small smile curve with about 2db extra bass and treble. I just added another 1dB bass in this example and ramped up the distortion to taste. I used the HQ stereo version... what do you think?

I've just started to develop a new library that will be drive based. At the same time I'm creating a add on to this library.

Stay tuned! :D
