Big difference between nebula 3 server and Nebula 3 pro?

Post by mightymosaic » Mon Jul 08, 2013 11:06 pm

I understand the whole slave computer thing for the server edition. But im just curious if having nebulaserver alone on the same cpu is a significant improvement from just having nebula 3 pro? I tried doing some searching and coulnt fid any legit answers. I read that someone said There CPU improved by 30% just by upgrading to server edition Is it true?

whats the scooooooop Folks!

I don't have the Server version. All I can say is that it uses the Core 3 engine, as opposed to the Pro version using the Core 2 engine. Based on this, I'd guess that there were some CPU optimizations made in the Core 3 engine, but really, I don't know :?:

To my knowledge, the server version does have better CPU utilization, but the best part is that it uses what they call ram sharing. Same presets share RAM. Nebula is heavier on CPU and less on RAM, but every little bit helps. But i went into the server version mainly so that when the full server/slave features are implemented, I will be ready.

Everything is working great! And it has dropped The cpu by about 30%

P.s I had to re do every single one of my programs all over again with Nebula set ups... totally worth it BTW ..

Hey Mightymosaic

Just wondered if you were on a Mac ?
I've been thinking about upgrading to Server from Pro for a while now, but I've been worried that I may have been lucky with my introduction to Nebula !
The installation and authorization process was pretty painless for me just a few months ago and I've fallen totally in love with this system, but it seems that quite a few people have problems with the Server version.
Nice to hear that your upgrade was so successful.

Nebula3 Pro to Nebula3 Pro Server is quite invisible path. You install an upgrade that upgrade your Nebula3 Pro with Nebula3 Pro Server client with CORE3. You don't need a new key.

Giancarlo is debugging and soon will be on OSX. Soon we will have new OSX installer.

It's nice to hear some work is being done on the Mac version! :)

I was thinking of upgrading to the server version but have been on the fence. This makes me feel a little more comfortable. Can't wait to see the updates!

Happy to hear this, also. I tried upgrading to the Server edition a few months back but couldn't get it to work. Will definitely try it again when it's updated!
