Just got the R2R "STU A-820-addon" from cdsoundmaster and all I can say is that I'm in love, again...

Feel free to share your own experience with this beauty.

This is by far my favorite of all the tape libraries I've tried for the master buss.

Plus it has 7.5, 15, and 30 ips settings, allowing you to mix and match on individual channels for tonal changes sans eq.

Whats fun is the 7.5 ips setting, along with the noise samples from the r2r library Michael recorded a while

Great sonic personality you can't get in the box with other tools.

Played around with the new libraries this weekend, noticing me gravitating toward the 30 ips NAB for the master. Then put on the same setting at 15 ips on the master today and it was gold, so don't rest on simply having a go to.

:D

I'm finding when using it as early in the process as possible on the master the sounds, and mix come together far more quickly.

Super fun stuff.

Weird, when were the noise samples released??
Should a customer ask Michael to have it??

Should I have gotten an email as a customer who bought R2R? I mean, what is it anyway – a commercial update, a free add-on???

You should get an email from Michael. It is a free add-on for existing customers. I am still trying to figure out what the preset names mean (NAB, etc). Any ideas? I love the different tones of these, but the geek in me wants to know what these are exactly.

NAB and CCIR are tape eq.

Thanks for the response, but that is about as clear (unclear...) as the names already.... lol. What am I missing here? "...are tape eq".... But what does it mean?

Edit:
I actually have experience with these machines.... years ago, and my memory failed me for a few minutes.... Google is my friend.

Got the email but I haven't had a chance to take them for a spin yet. Still, I'm pretty excited about new tape programs!

I actually thought of you first when I tried this one. This is "up your alley", I think.

Just tried them out. VERY solid sounding and I love what it does to the high end. A welcome addition :D
