Post by cdsoundmaster » Tue Sep 18, 2012 6:29 pm

CDSoundMaster is pleased to announce our newest release for NebulaPro:

The "AMK98 CONSOLE EQ AND CHANNEL STRIP" For Nebula Pro !!!

This N**e design is one of the most flexible eq's I have ever worked with, and it is an amazing and unique sounding workhorse.

The "AMK98 CONSOLE EQ AND CHANNEL STRIP For Nebula Pro" consists of 52 programs: all sampled at 96kHz and tested to retain accuracy at 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates with the latest version of Nebula3 Pro.

Hey Michael,

This looks amazing. Congrats. I would love to get this and give it a spin before I hit the road for a while.

Take care

Just had a brief play and oh yes that silk..........this is why we love Nebula. This is one extraordinary effort guys. Pure silk. Pure silk.

I boosted the top shelf a little at 21k and I thought I'd died and gone to audio heaven. :D

Thanks Henry! :-)
Yes, I hope people catch on to this one.
The graphs and original support materials make an interesting read as well. It really tells where N**e was at that time, and his explanation of the impact on harmonics on eq are right on target. I've never seen such a range of slope and shape and narrow notch in one system.

:P I like that!! It's been just too much libraries lately and to little time to browse through presets.. so You say the top of this amek is smoother than cdsoundmaster siemens? I will be deciding between those two soon :P

I purchased this a few days ago, but have only a chance to take a glimpse.

In the middle of a serious restoration mastering session that I'm currently in surgery with :o

My 'hope' is to bend, twist, these mutilated tracks into something 'listen-able' that I can sweeten up.

Will definitely look to this AMK98 for salvation

... and report back!

BTW ... just viewing the graphs ... there is no other library [to date] that can slice/dice while also having the broad strokes available the shape.

Very much looking to work with this :D

Very nice, subtle sounds as expected.

I struggle struggle with cdsoundmaster preset naming conventions though

Is there a recommended method to set this up as a virtual console? There doesnt appear to be any sort of 'bus' channel preset
Unless its the OUT presets but the OUT in the manual indicates its just the pre with no equalizer circuit switched IN.

This not really a console library, it is the eq channel. The IN and OUT refer to a line in with the eq engaged or not engaged, much like CDSM's console buss presets (EQIN, EQOUT, etc).

Only still had a few moments to play with this ...

BUT ... this library has some of the most fantastic curve shaping and surgical manipulation that I've ever seen!

First ... although the WeQ has some narrow 'Qs' available, this Library's 'notch' filters are what normally are found in 'algo' eq's ... but this is hardware!

Also ... the High/Low shelving are an incredible design! Most all other shelfs have a 'rolloff' characteristic ... but these are like 'flatline' band adjusters [terrible description]. And the range that they cover ... unbelievable!

With all the other bell-q's included in this lib, the sculpting power is like no other.

I tried out the available 'pre-amp' ... it seems to open up the mid-range area ... I still need to have time to listen to the sonics that impart.

My hope is that any coloring would be minimal and transparent, because the shaping ability has 'Mastering' all over it!

Ya know ... I've purchased nearly every NEB EQ library to date, and I really did NOT want to buy another one, but this design is so unique. Check out the graphs to see what I'm referring to.

Again, need more time to evaluate sonics!

Sincerely.

Try loading a preamp on every channel. Followed by an eq where required (low cut is nice) and a no-eq line amp on the 2bus and it sounds like a console to me :D
