Just upgraded and used the 4kd. I must say, very impressed. I think neb comps will be quickly catching up to the EQs with this upgrade. Also I think it is good alex did keep the signal path clean so we are not forced to hybrid 4000 signals with 9000 signals.

Right, now I have had time to play! :D

These compressors DO sound great! I have mastered a couple of tracks with them now and used the channel compressor quite a lot on a new track and I am loving them.

Deep and punchy is the way I hear them. They add weight to the sound quite considerably!!

Will be using them a lot. :P

Right on the money! As much as I love "the Glue", when I replaced it with 4KD buss comp (4:1, 30 ms attack and auto-release...same settings I was using with the Glue), this is what I felt...it added weight to the sound.

Yeah, I have been replacing the glue as well, although its still useful while writing until I render and swap it for the new 4kd.

i imagine alot of Glue licenses are gonna be on ebay soon lol. i found a way around my bass distiontion issue.

1. i just use Ozone to cut the bass by 20dB before it goes into the compressor and then boost it with another instance of Ozone by 20dB after the compressor

2. or just change the smooth param in PROG>>EDIT>>GLOB the POW5-12 works for me best.

Anyway hope this helps someone!!

or simply filter the second bus - sidechaining. It's possible we'll add a filter directly in nebula

4KD sounds great. It would be really good if Alex could do something like an STC 8, M*****c MLA-2, Pendulum etc in time... something gentle, functional, versatile & nice, a nice compressor to go in the smastering sections :D.

Honestly, this is one of the most useful additions I could possibly imagine.

...or we could ask Alex very nicely if he could do an LA2A and an 1176;
if the development of 'time constants' and distortion permits,
and he can show Waves and NI how it's done right, I mean really right, LOL!
Or maybe we should give the good man a rest, and let him decide.

And IK too.

But 1176 attack 0.02ms~0.8ms, quite challenging.
