Awesome news on the new plugin. The only question I have has come from the mentioning of only being able to open a single instance.

It's a silly question, but what does this mean and why?

Maybe a small white paper next time lads?....;)
It's a single nebula instance now.
It will support a single acqua instance later. We'll support multiple instances later

You mention that skinning is quiet different between the 2 versions (which is understandable with the new features that will need to be supported). So that come to this question now: Can you load a N3 skin in N4? :?:
that is actually a very interesting question

Can you load a N3 skin in N4
im adding :
can you load more than one N3 skin
when multiple instances is opened up as a feature for N3 in N4 ?

if its possible to load a N3 skin at all though in N4 hehe

Yes if syntax is correct, you also need to setup emulation preset proprieties. After Nebula4 release we are going to submit information to 3rd developers.

Multiple instances of what?

isn't N4 supposed to be able to run more than one nebula3 lib at once in a future upgrade ?

will it be possible to run 3 or 4 skinned nebula3 libs simultaneously in one instance of N4

I didn't read all the posts, have all the older libraries been re-tooled/ sampled?

What new libraries can we expect in this version?

At the moment, Nebula Setups is staying in Nebula3 domain.

Its support/integration with Nebula4 is under consideration. More details will be known, when Nebula4 will be ready & running, so we will have a lot of feedback about user's workflow.

Because Nebula4 is more complex product, built on the new JUCE framework, supporting it in Nebula Setups will require substantial amount of work to be done. From the Nebula Setups perspective, the area where the largest differences between N3 and N4 are is skin handling. Also plugin copying is not so straightforward as with N3 VST - almost all N4 plugin formats (VST2, VST3 and AU) will require special patching tool - Nebula Setups is using similar tool for N3 AU setups.

Note, this is very preliminar info and anything may change.
So do you think that neb4 won't have the capability to make different named instances (.dll) that load only selected programs in the immediate future?

Skins won't be very important for me, but I need the ability to make different "plugins" so they can load faster and it is easier to spot in cubase

It will be possible, but special patching tool will be required.

hello all, i have been reading this thread on N4 with great interest.
i am a recent convert to nebula and love it and am very interested in upgrading to N4 possibly in conjunction with nebula3.

the many arguments about pricing and discounts are valid as i'm sure people have difficulties with money around this time of the year, but i on the other hand only want the best available tools to do what i need to do.
i can't afford a N**e desk for instance, but i will pay whatever AA deems an appropriate price for their products as i think that AA pricing is fair given the amount of work that goes into development.

it is all positive from my angle except for one important post earlier by [email protected] which was hardly touched upon...

'to copy all my Aqcua libs into the nebula respiratory
what is the benefits of doing this exactly ?
rack up my acquas witch feels very unnecessary and using twice the space on my SSD while doing so ?'

...surely there is a better way than needlessly doubling up files on an SSD. reaper for instance has a function in the vst prefs where you can just add a path to point to a new vst folder and it's done.

regards from australia.

I think people are troubling themselves to much at this point. Why not wait and see how N4 exactly works when it is released? ;)

Because of copying repository. Why not use <ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>? So you could save the copying stuff.

Or, as N3 and N4 can coexist: Using N3 libs with N3 and N4 with N4. I am sure there are plenty of solutions. Sit and wait. At least this is what I do instead of troubling myself with problems which probably are none at the end.

This feature will be released in the future and it is not a selling point today
Anyway here we go:

- You access all libraries from the same folder and browser
- You can run acqua released from 3rd party developers and not specifically released as acqua standalone plugins. They are nebula libraries on steroids
- You can edit individual instances

if i hadnt asked if N3 and N4 could co exist i wouldn't know
and i would probably not been interested in even trial N4 without this information

its a Nebula4, new details thread after all

i feel many details are missing therefore i ask ;)

Cheers
