There is truth to the OS version topic. Windows 7 support has been pretty much abandoned and Windows 8 will soon follow. I know of a lot of new hardware won't even support them anymore. It will soon be Win 10 or bust basically.

windows 7 user here running a perfectly
stable and efficient system; last time i checked
what migration to 8 would take, i would have to
find and install at least a dozen drivers/upgrades that either
were not availiable or would have unknown
compatibility with the rest of the system.
Windows 10 is even worse. Oh and i thoroughly hate the new
interface.

Meanwhile, win 7 has more than double the market share
than 10. This business of forcing changing OS so that the MS or Apple
can post more corporate profits is ridiculous.

im sticking with win7
if this platform gets abandoned along with win8
im not buying anymore plugins
i hate being forced from a perfectly good platform
so i simply refuse :)

It's an indirect "force" in that Windows 7 and 8 are both scheduled to be completely dropped from Microsoft support, and not just on an update front. Those OS will still work on older hardware, but all future hardware looks to support Windows 10 only.

I kind of see this coming:
You'll have this Power PC type of scenario happening on the Windows side of computing. For anyone who still has the working hardware to run the older OS versions (just like an Apple Power PC), they'll still be able to use that. However, Windows 7 and 8 will eventually be in the same boat that Windows 2000 and all those earlier ones are currently in, where nothing "present day" runs on them anymore. On the flip side, Windows 10 will be the only Microsoft OS to develop for. So complete system compatibility would increase over time along with a more unified software integration with hardware, making the whole Windows experience similar in nature to that of the Mac.

Sooner or later i'll have to "Format C:"

I'm currently running WIN7 X64 and very happy abt it ...
I know upgrading to 10 would be a wise move but i'm afraid to have some issues on WIN 10 with some apps that tweak the registry ... :?

I am loading this page every day waiting for new information about the release. Will the previous sales model be followed? Nebula 4 Pro and Nebula 4 Server? Waiting anxious for this day!

Nebula4 is in alpha test, version 1.0.007 was uploaded for test yesterday and we are working in version 1.0.008.

Browser and skinned emulation presets are working in VST2, AU, and AAX format in OSX 10.8 to 10.12 and Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Soon as Nebula4 go in beta test we are going to start uploading product information.

not buying any more aquas.. they're becoming too convoluted for me coral/sand are not for me tbh
Neb 4 however will be the one for me.. still really enjoying using my 3rd party libs, I have simple needs  I'm not a channel strip guy
do we get a neb4 reverb or will they work in the same plugin ?

good decision.

I would make another nice gui (aqua area) and core 10 too.

For selling nebula 4 i would add possibility to add ONE of any kind of the aqua plugins by decision: So if i buy neb 4 i would get sand for free on top. Would ne a nice move - and should sell also more aquas in future - if they are able to pop up in nebula 4 rack system.

Of course i would add ONE plugin of the common 3rd party members. E.g. Boschi adds a N**e eq, Tim his 1176 Comp and so on.

That all together would be a very fine move.
