Gain staging while batching with Nebula

Post by Gorgol » Sat Jun 25, 2016 12:03 am

When the input gain is boosted and the out is attenuated to get the right level out. (experienced with Cupwise C660, Nebula-Cupwise with adjusted .xml, as in the Cupwise C660 manual http://www.cupwise.com/fx/product-manuals/C_660.pdf); Levels are good live but as soon as the batch starts (with all kernels TIMED), the output level is 8 to 10 db higher than in live. In the live test only the clean kernel was running TIMED.

I had to set input gain close to neutral to get the right output level for a batch.

That is not the way a batch is supposed to work?

I can hardly imagine all kernels running TIMED make that much of a gain difference as opposed to just the clean kernel running TIMED.

I have a feeling that a high input gain, while running fine in live situation, can clip Nebula when in batch.

Please follow this guide, Nebula troubleshooting and weird behavior report, here: http://www.acustica-audio.com/phpBB3/vi ... 10&t=28859 and report it in a technical support ticket from your Dashboard.

Ticket is posted.

Got a fast and coherent response from Tim P. regarding kernel lengths, excellent!

Will submit requested files on next occurrence.
