in such case it is simply aliasing which could be fixed by oversampling or working at an higher freq rate. It is possible we'll implement oversampling in future versions

what scene is talking about happens in the lower frequencies.

it's a totally different thing. and it's not just confined to a few presets.

try taking scene's dry file and testing programs that have higher harmonic levels.... and look/listen in the lower frequencies. it's like a detuned modulation effect happening somewhere around 100-200hz. i'm pretty sure that it happens because of the harmonics.
Interesting but it could still be differences in sample changes? I had a problem with a reverb that I was creating that was slow but concluded it was to do with phase changes over samples. It created a modulation effect....

low freq issue = sub harmonics = aliasing to fix using higher freq rate
high freq issue = fast switching using different kernels = increase liquidity

first one could be solved by oversampling, second by a trchnique we are experimenting now

hmm that's interesting


couldn't it be checked to see if oversampling would help, by loading any offending program into a project at a higher sampling rate, along with the dry clip of scene's?

The" affected" samples that I included are 96khz/32 bit and the Nebula programs that I use are also natively 96khz. At this resolution aliasing shouldn't be so audible. I've never heard a plugin that does it at this resolution unless it is designed as a lo-fi effect.


If this is aliasing then this is the worst case I've ever heard - it is some kind of "unstable aliasing"; Because it is both, frequency and dynamics dependent . The strength of this d-effect changes according to the audio it is attached to.

frequency and dynamics dependent? so when you remove evf it is still there? or it just gets reduced when removing evf?

If we get oversampling I pray it will be optional... nothing worse than the sound of real time oversampling in so many plug-ins... urrrghhh!!
